Skarnes Station ( no, Skarnes stasjon) is a railway station located at Skarnes in Sør-Odal, Norway. It is on the Kongsvinger Line (''Kongsvingerbanen''). Skarnes
Skarnes is the administrative centre of Sør-Odal Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village lies along the river Glomma, about half-way between the villages of Disenå and Sander. The new Sør-Odal municipal hall is located in the village. Construction was finished in 2010. The Kongsvingerbanen railway line runs through the village, stopping at Skarnes Station which opened in 1862. The European route E16 highway runs through the village. The Oppstad Church is located about north of the village. The village has a population (2021) of 2,557 and a population density of . Location The village consists of three parts. Oslo Commuter Rail ( no, Lokaltog Østlandet) is a commuter rail centered in Oslo, Norway, connecting the capital to six counties in Eastern Norway. Kongsvinger Station ( no, Kongsvinger stasjon) is a railway station located in downtown Kongsvinger, Norway, on the Kongsvinger Line and Solør Line. The station was built in 1862 as part of the Kongsvinger Lin and designed in Swiss chalet style by Heinrich Ernst Schirmer and Wilhelm von Hanno. Later a branch line, the Solør Line, was built to Elverum. The station is served by many Oslo Commuter Rail departures to and from Oslo Central Station. SJ was created in 2001, out of the public transport division of ''Statens Järnvägar'', when the former government agency was divided into six separate government-owned limited companies. Vygruppen, branded as Vy, is a government-owned railway company which operates most passenger train services and many bus services in Norway. The company is owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport. Its sub-brands include Vy Buss coach services, CargoNet freight trains and the Swedish train transport company Tågkompaniet.
