Simarjit Singh Bains
Simarjeet Singh Bains is an Indian politician from the state of Punjab and was a former member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Political career Between 2012 and 2022, Bains represented the Atam Nagar Assembly constituency of Punjab. Simarjeet Bains started his career as an independent member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Along with his brother, Balwinder Singh Bains, he established the Lok Insaaf Party and made an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party for the 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly election. Bains also contested as an independent candidate from Ludhiana in 2014 general elections and gathered 2,10,917 votes. They left the AAP alliance in March 2018 following AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal issuing a public apology to Bikram Singh Majithia, having earlier accused him of being the kingpin of the illegal drug trade in Punjab. Punjab Legislative Assembly
The Punjab Legislative Assembly or the Punjab Vidhan Sabha is the unicameral legislature of the state of Punjab in India. The Sixteenth Punjab Legislative Assembly was constituted in March 2022. At present, it consists of 117 members, directly elected from 117 single-seat constituencies. The tenure of the Legislative Assembly is five years unless dissolved sooner. Arvind Kejriwal (Hindi: ™É¾Ê‹in̪d̪ ked͡ʒɾiËÊ‹aËl born 16 August 1968) is an Indian politician, former bureaucrat, and activist who is the 7th and current Chief Minister of Delhi since February 2015. Currently, he is the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, which won the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections with a historic majority, obtaining 67 out of 70 seats. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is a national level political party in India that was formed to represent Bahujans (literally means "community in majority"), referring to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBC), along with religious minorities. According to Kanshi Ram, when he founded the party in 1984, the Bahujans comprised 85 percent of India's population, but were divided into 6,000 different castes. The Punjab Ekta Party was a political party in India, founded by Sukhpal Singh Khaira on 8 January 2019. It was a Punjab-centric regional party which later merged with Indian National Congress on 17 June 2021. History *Sukhpal Khaira was elected in 2017 from the Bholath constituency on the ticket of the Aam Aadmi Party. After the resignation of H. S. Bikram Singh Majithia
Bikram Singh Majithia (born 1 March 1975) is an Indian politician and a former cabinet minister in the Punjab Government. He won 2007 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections from the Majitha constituency, and again won in 2012 and 2017. He belongs to Shiromani Akali Dal and is president of its Youth Wing, Youth Akali Dal. Background and family Majithia was born on 1 March 1975 to former Deputy Defence Minister Satyajit Singh Majithia and Sukhmanjus Kaur Majithia in Delhi.
