Sikkim Rajya Manch Party (SRMP) (English Translation: Sikkim State Forum Party) is a regional political party in the Indian state of Sikkim. Founder and Incumbent President is Rup Narayan Chamling (R. N. Chamling) who is a little brother of former Chief Minister of Sikkim and the president of Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), Pawan Kumar Chamling. History In spite of the objection of Pawan Kumar Chamling, R.N. Chamling stood as an independent candidate in the bye-election of Sikkim Legislative Assembly on 16 September 2014. R. N. Chamling won and beat the candidate of SDF, Kumari Manger in Yangang. Pawan Kumar Chamling didn't forgive R. N. Chamling's behavior, and didn't accept him as a Member of SDF. As the result, R. N. Chamling kept his position as an independent Member of Legislative Assembly. On 7 December 2017, R. N. Chamling established the new party, Sikkim Rajya Manch Party (SRMP) in Sribadam in West Sikkim. Sikkim (Lok Sabha Constituency)
Sikkim Lok Sabha constituency is a Lok Sabha (lower house of the Indian parliament) constituency which covers the entire area of the state of Sikkim. Sikkim participated in its first general elections in 1977 after joining the Union in 1975. Its first member of parliament (MP) was Chatra Bahadur Chhetri of the Indian National Congress who was elected unopposed. The current MP is Indra Hang Subba, who has represented the constituency since 2019. His term is expected to end in May 2024. Sikkim United Front Party (SUFP) is a regional political party in the Indian state of Sikkim. Founder and Incumbent President is Narendra Adhikari. History On 25 June 2018, Narendra Adhikari established the new political party, Sikkim United Front Party (SUFP) at Ranipool, east Sikkim. In this launching ceremony, Delay Namgyal Barfungpa who is the president of Sikkim National People’s Party (SNPP) also presented. In March 2019, SUFP participated in the electoral alliance, Sikkim Progressive Alliance (SPA) which was formed by Sikkim Sangram Parishad (SSP), Sikkim Rajya Manch Party (SRMP) and SNPP. Sikkim National People’s Party
The Sikkim National People's Party (SNPP) was a regional political party (State Party (Unrecognized)) in the Indian state of Sikkim. Election symbol was Pen Nib. SNPP didn't have any relationship with Sikkim National Party (SNP) in same state or National People's Party (NPP) in the state of Meghalaya. History Pre-SNPP history Biraj Adhikari and Delay Namgyal Barfungpa were members of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC, Sikkim branch of Indian National Congress (INC)) which was led by Nar Bahadur Bhandari. In 2004, as the candidates of INC, Adhikari contested the sole Lok Sabha seat from Sikkim, Barfungpa contested the Sikkim Legislative seat from Rumtek Constituency. Sikkim Sangram Parishad
Sikkim Sangram Parishad is a regional political party in the Indian state of Sikkim. In 1979, after a period of instability, a ministry headed by Nar Bahadur Bhandari from Sikkim Janata Parishad party gained power in Sikkim. In 1984, Bhandari dissolved Sikkim Janata Parishad and formed a new party called Sikkim Sangram Parishad. Sikkim Sangram Parishad held on to power in the 1984 and 1989 elections, but after that lost to Sikkim Democratic Front, which has swept the elections since 1999. Sikkim Sangram Parishad did not win any seats in the state assembly in the 2004 elections. Nar Bahadur Bhandari has merged Sikkim Sangram Parishad with the Indian National Congress and he became the president of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC). Yangang is a small town in South Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim. Pawan Kumar Chamling
Pawan Kumar Chamling (born 22 September 1949) is an Indian politician and the former Chief Minister of Sikkim. Chamling is the Founding President of the Sikkim Democratic Front, which governed the state for five successive terms since 1994. Chamling's 24.4 year stint (December 1994 to May 2019) is the longest ever by a chief minister of any Indian state, surpassing Jyoti Basu's 23 years in West Bengal. Prior to establishing the Sikkim Democratic Front, Chamling served as Minister for Industries, Information and Public Relations from 1989 to 1992 in Nar Bahadur Bhandari's cabinet.
