Andreas Maurer (Austrian Politician)
Andreas Josef Maurer (7 September 1919 – 25 October 2010) was an Austrian politician (ÖVP) and farmers' advocate who served as governor of Lower Austria from 1966 to 1981. Early life Maurer was born in Trautmannsdorf an der Leitha in Lower Austria, and was raised on his parents' farm. From 1925 to 1933 he attended school in Trautmannsdorf, and afterwards attended agricultural technical school in Bruck an der Leitha. He was a soldier in the Wehrmacht from 1940 to 1945, and married Hermine Berger in 1944. Political career From 1946, Maurer was politically active as a farmers' representative, and then entered local politics, serving on the Trautmannsdorf city council from 1951 to 1956. In 1959 he was elected to the ''Landtag'' of Lower Austria, where he served until 1964. From 1964 to 1966 he was an official (''Landesrat'') in the provincial government of Lower Austria, as well as President of the Austrian Farmers' Federation. Erwin Pröll
Erwin Pröll (born 24 December 1946, in Ziersdorf-Radlbrunn), is an Austrian conservative politician (ÖVP). From 1992 to 2017, he was the Governor of Lower Austria. He was born in Radlbrunn, Lower Austria and after obtaining his Matura at Tulln he studied at the University of Natural Resources (BOKU), Vienna. Political life The transfer of the regional administration of Lower Austria from Vienna to Sankt Pölten took place during his administration. Pröll is seen as a supporter of a Grand Coalition between the ÖVP and Social Democratic Party (SPÖ). In the year 2000 he was still a supporter of the "black-blue" coalition (ÖVP with the Freedom Party (FPÖ)), but two years later argued against such an arrangement. Austrian People's Party
The Austrian People's Party (german: Österreichische Volkspartei , ÖVP ) is a Christian-democratic and liberal-conservative political party in Austria. Since December 2021, the party has been led provisionally by Karl Nehammer. It is currently the largest party in the National Council, with 71 of the 183 seats, and won 37.5% of votes cast in the 2019 legislative election. Vlasatice (german: Wostitz) is a municipality and village in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,000 inhabitants.
