Sibbinda Constituency
Sibinda Constituency is an Electoral district in Namibia. It is situated in the Zambezi Region. Its centre is Sibinda which is a settlement 63 kilometres out of Katima Mulilo. The constituency has a population of 11,112 people. In the 2020 Regional Council Elections, there were 6,248 registered voters. Politics In 2012, Ignatius Chunga of SWAPO Party became constituency councillor after winning a by-election that was scheduled after the previous councillor Felix Mukupe died in a car accident. Chunga was reelected in the 2015 regional election with 1,924 votes, followed by Luseso Parry Malumbano of the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA) with 322 votes and Lister Limbo Sabuta of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) with 314 votes. Zambezi Region
The Zambezi Region is one of the 14 regions of Namibia. It is located in the north-eastern part of the country. It is largely concurrent with the major Zambezi River where it gets its name from. The region has eight constituencies and its capital is the town of Katima Mulilo. The self-governed village Bukalo is also found in this region. The Zambezi Region had a population of 90,596 in 2011. Katima Mulilo or simply Katima is the capital of the Zambezi Region in Namibia. It is located in the Caprivi Strip. It had 28,362 inhabitants in 2010, and comprises two Constituencies of Namibia, electoral constituencies, Katima Mulilo Rural and Katima Mulilo Urban. Each of the 14 regions of Namibia is further subdivided into electoral constituencies. The size of the constituencies varies with the size and population of each region. There are currently 121 constituencies in Namibia. The most populous constituency according to the 2011 census was Rundu Urban in the Kavango West region with 63,431 people; the least populous was Okatyali in the Oshana region with 3,187 people. The administrative division of Namibia is tabled by ''Delimitation Commissions'' and accepted or declined by the National Assembly. The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM), formerly the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA), is an amalgamation of political parties in Namibia, registered as one singular party for representation purposes.
