Siaogang is the southern terminus of the Red line of Kaohsiung MRT in Siaogang District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Siaogang District
Siaogang District, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency () is a district of Kaohsiung City in southern Taiwan. Before the merging of Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County in 2010, Siaogang was the southernmost district in Kaohsiung City. The second largest airport in Taiwan, Kaohsiung International Airport, is located in Siaogang. History Siaogang was developed during Dutch era. The Dutch built Ang Moh Harbor as an addition to Anping Harbor in Tainan. After the Dutch were defeated by Koxinga, they left Taiwan. Koxinga's government developed Taiwan as the last stronghold to revive the Ming Dynasty and prepare his troops to fight against the Qing dynasty. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Kaohsiung Metro () is a rapid transit and light rail system covering the metropolitan area of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Its rapid transit network is known as Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit or Kaohsiung MRT. Kaohsiung Municipal Social Education Hall
The Kaohsiung Municipal Social Education Hall () is an educational center in Siaogang District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. History In 1950, the Kaohsiung Social Education Work Team was established at the 228 Memorial Park area. In 1965, the team was restructured and became the Kaohsiung Municipal Social Education Center. In 1971, the center moved its office to Cianjin District. In 1995, the Cultural and Physical Activity Center for Youth was established in Siaogang District, and the center moved to the same venue and became the Kaohsiung Municipal Social Education Hall which was opened in the same year. Linhai Industrial Park
The Linhai Industrial Park () is an industrial park located in Siaogang District and Cianjhen District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It near the Kaohsiung International Airport, No. 5 Container Center of Port of Kaohsiung and the terminal of National Highway No. 1. Talin Power Plant
The Talin Power Plant () or Dalin Power Plant is a mix-generation power plant in Siaogang District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. As of November 2022 it has four operational units: two 800 MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired units, which went into commercial operation on February 13, 2018 and October 24, 2019, a 500 MW gas-fired unit, which went into commercial operation on October 15, 1975 and a 550 MW gas-fired unit, which went into commercial operation on September 12, 1994. Fuel supply The plant receives its coal supply for the fuel from Indonesia (49%), Australia (46%), Russia (4%) and Colombia (1%) to the adjacent Port of Kaohsiung and by conveyor to the plant from the port.
