Shujeo Shyam
Shujeo Shyam (born 1946) is a Bangladeshi singer, composer, and music director. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director four times for the films ''Hason Raja'' (2002), ''Joyjatra'' (2004), ''Obujh Bou'' (2010) and ''Joiboti Konyar Mon'' (2021). He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2018 by the Government of Bangladesh. Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Direction ( bn, বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার শ্রেষ্ঠ সঙ্গীত পরিচালক) is the highest award for music direction in Bangladeshi film. History Ferdausi Rahman became the only female musician to claim a National Award for best music direction. Alauddin Ali three consecutive awards in the years : 1978, 1979 and 1980. Khandaker Nurul Alam won this award in 1984, 1986 and 1991. Satya Saha earned two consecutive awards in 1994 and 1996. Alam Khan earned three awards in the 1980s : 1982, 1985 and 1987. ''Joyjatra'' ( bn, জয়যাত্রা) is Bangladeshi film directed by Tauquir Ahmed and produced by Azam Faruk, featuring Mahfuz Ahmed, Bipasha Hayat, Azizul Hakim, Ahsan Habib Nasim, and others. The film is set in the period of the Bangladesh Liberation War. Plot Joyjatra takes place during the liberation war of Bangladesh. Ekushey Padak ( bn, একুশে পদক; lit. "Twentyfirst Award") is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, education, and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award. The award consists of an 18 carat gold medal weighing 3 tolas and a certificate of honour. The medal was designed by the artist Nitun Kundu. The amount of the cash reward was originally ৳ 25,000, but it was subsequently increased to ৳ 100,000 in 2015. Next it was increased to tk 2,00,000 in 2017 and to tk 4,00,000 as of November 2019. Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra ( bn, স্বাধীন বাংলা বেতার কেন্দ্র, lit=Free Bengal Radio Centre) was the radio broadcasting centre of Bengali nationalist forces during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. This station played an important role in the liberation struggle, broadcasting the Declaration of Independence and increasing the morale of Bangladeshis during the war. Dewan Hason Raja Chowdhury, or simply known as Hason Raja ( bn, হাসন রাজা; 21 December 1854 – 6 December 1922), was a Bengali mystic poet and songwriter from Sylhet, Bengal Presidency (now Bangladesh). His unique style of music made him one of the most prominent figures in Bengali folk culture.
