Short.fast.loud
''Short Fast Loud'' (stylised as 'short.fast.loud.') is a radio show on Triple J in Australia. It is hosted by Joshua "Redbeard" Merriel and features punk, hardcore, emo and similar music. The name for the show was taken from the Kid Dynamite album: Shorter, Faster, Louder (Jade Tree, 2000). The show runs on a Wednesday night from 9pm to 11pm. The show originally started broadcast in January 2004 as a 2-hour format by the show's original host, Stu Harvey, but was extended to a 3-hour version in 2006. It returned to a 2 hour length show in 2022. Stu Harvey stepped aside as host of short.fast.loud at the end of 2014 to focus on other life projects and Josh Merriel has hosted the show since 2015. Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Punk rock in California, Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant History of the hippie movement, hippie cultural climate of the time. Stu Harvey
Stuart "Stu" Harvey is a Melbourne, Australia based radio announcer. Harvey first worked at 979fm in Melton, Victoria, hosting Mondo Bizarro, before teaming up with Nick Kocsis (a.k.a. Nick Mondo) and moving the show to 3RRR. Mondo Bizarro was Australia's longest ever running specialist punk radio show, the show ended in late 2005, after running on various stations constantly for over 14 years. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting music of Australia, Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Story of the Year is an American rock band formed in St. Louis, Missouri, Story of the Year at Allmusic.comAccessed May 17, 2007. in 1995 under the name 67 North. The band eventually changed their name to Big Blue Monkey in 1998, and then subsequently changed it again to Story of the Year in 2002, after the release of their EP titled ''Story of the Year'' on the indie label Criterion Records. ''Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness'' is the third studio album by progressive rock quartet Coheed and Cambria. It was released on September 20, 2005, through Equal Vision Records and Columbia Records, and is the first release on a major label. It is the third installment of a projected tetralogy, as well as the final studio album to feature drummer Josh Eppard before his original departure. He was replaced by Chris Pennie who was with the band for their next two albums (although he did not record on '' No World for Tomorrow'' due to contractual obligations) before Eppard returned to the band in late 2011. The song "Farewell My Hell" originated as an idea for singer Nikola Sarcevic's first solo album, but was used for ''Kingwood'' instead. Millencolin
Millencolin is a Swedish punk rock band that was formed on 12 October 1992 by Nikola Šarčević, Mathias Färm, and Erik Ohlsson in Örebro, Sweden. In early 1993, drummer Fredrik Larzon joined the band. The name Millencolin is derived from the skateboard trick "melancholy". History The original lineup, consisting of Šarčević (vocals and bass), Ohlsson (guitar), and Färm (drums), released their first demo tape, ''Goofy'', in early 1993. Pennywise is an American punk rock band from Hermosa Beach, California, formed in 1988.
