Kingwood (album)
''Kingwood'' is the sixth album by Swedish punk rock band Millencolin, released on 30 March 2005 in Sweden and 12 April 2005 in North America. The song "Farewell My Hell" originated as an idea for singer Nikola Sarcevic's first solo album, but was used for ''Kingwood'' instead. "Farewell My Hell" was played prominently in the Swedish vampire comedy horror film ''Frostbite''. Release On 26 January 2005, ''Kingwood'' was announced for release in two months' time. On 1 March 2005, "Biftek Supernova" was posted online for free download. The music video for "Ray" was posted online on 8 March 2005; the track was released as the album's lead single eight days later. ''Kingwood'' was released in Europe on 28 March 2005, and in the United States on 14 April 2005. Millencolin
Millencolin is a Swedish punk rock band that was formed on 12 October 1992 by Nikola Šarčević, Mathias Färm, and Erik Ohlsson in Örebro, Sweden. In early 1993, drummer Fredrik Larzon joined the band. The name Millencolin is derived from the skateboard trick "melancholy". History The original lineup, consisting of Šarčević (vocals and bass), Ohlsson (guitar), and Färm (drums), released their first demo tape, ''Goofy'', in early 1993. Soon afterwards, Larzon joined the band to play drums, allowing Färm to perform as the second guitarist. In the summer of 1993, they recorded a second demo tape, ''Melack''. The band sent the tape to Burning Heart Records, a new record label formed earlier that year. Fredrik Larzon (born April 25, 1973) is the drummer of the Swedish punk band Millencolin. He was born and lives in Örebro, Sweden. He runs another project named Kvoteringen. Before joining Millencolin in 1993, Larzon was a member of the band Kung Pung. He replaced Mathias Färm on drums, who was better on guitar. His first recording with the band was their 1993 demo tape titled ''Melack''. Larzon has the most interaction with fans as he is in charge of the Millencolin newsletter and responds to most of the fan mail. He is also an active member in some Millencolin fan forums. Erik Ohlsson (born 2 July 1975 in Örebro, Sweden) is the lead and rhythm guitarist of Swedish punk rock band Millencolin. He currently resides in Örebro, Sweden. He designs most all of the band's artwork, including their t-shirts, logos, cover artwork, and their officiahomepage Ohlsson edited and designed Millencolin's 1998 video '' Millencolin and the Hi-8 Adventures''. Mathias Färm
Mathias Färm (born September 9, 1974, in Örebro, Sweden) is a guitar player, best known as a member of the Swedish punk rock band Millencolin. He is also the frontman of a punk band named Franky Lee, a side-project of Millencolin. He started skating in 1987 and started listening to Operation Ivy, Mc Rad, The Descendents & Odd Man Out because of the skate videos. Early in 1992 he and Nikola Šarčević were members of a band named Seigmen, which was a punk rock band singing in Swedish. Färm runs a studio named Soundlab Studios, which he started with the help of Mieszko Talarczyk the former lead singer of Swedish grindcore band Nasum. He was the inaugural drummer for Millencolin but soon switched to guitar when Millencolin's current drummer Fredrik Larzon joined the band in 1993. Warped Tour
The Warped Tour was a traveling rock tour that toured the United States plus three or four stops in Canada annually each summer from 1995 until 2019. It was the largest traveling music festival in the United States and the longest-running touring music festival to date in North America. Following the first Warped Tour, the skateboard shoe manufacturer Vans became the tour’s main sponsor, when it then became known as the Vans Warped Tour. Vans toured Australia in 1998-2002 and again in 2013. Roses Are Red (originally named Nobody Cares) was a rock band formed in Rochester, New York. The band was signed to Trustkill Records. History Roses Are Red formed in the summer of 2002 from members of other bands around the Western New York area. It originally featured Vincent Minervino on vocals, Brian and Matthew Gordner on guitars, Kevin Mahoney on bass, and Michael Lasaponara on drums. Just 2 months after forming, the band recorded a 4-song demo and toured on weekends throughout the fall and winter of 2002. Boys Night Out (band)
Boys Night Out was a Canadian emo/post-hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. History The band formed in 2001 when Connor Lovat-Fraser (lead vocalist, guitar) and Jeff Davis (lead guitar, piano) started collaborating on songs. They were joined by Dave Costa (vocals, bass), Chris Danner (drums), and Rob Pasalic (guitar, vocals) and, that year, independently released the four-song EP ''You Are My Canvas'', which was influenced by fellow Burlington Hardcore punk, hardcore act Grade (band), Grade. Danner left the band and was replaced on drums by Ben Arseneau. The band signed to One Day Savior Recordings and, in 2002, released the EP ''Broken Bones and Bloody Kisses''. The Lawrence Arms
The Lawrence Arms are an American punk rock band from Chicago, formed in 1999. They have released seven full-length albums and toured extensively. Band history Pre-history Prior to forming the Lawrence Arms, the three band members were active in other Chicago-area bands. Brendan Kelly had played in the ska punk band Slapstick. Chris McCaughan had played in Tricky Dick before joining Kelly in the punk band The Broadways. McCaughan and Kelly also shared an apartment together on Chicago's north side. Neil Hennessy, meanwhile, had played in a band called Baxter. Street Dogs were an American punk rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 2002 by former Dropkick Murphys singer Mike McColgan. The band disbanded in early 2020 after 17 years together. History In 1997, McColgan left Dropkick Murphys "to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter for the Boston Fire Department." In 2002, McColgan decided he could no longer stay away from music and formed Street Dogs. ''Frostbite'' ( sv, Frostbiten) is a Swedish comedy horror film from 2006 directed by Anders Banke.
