Shigeru Ueda
is a Japanese anime storyboard artist and director. When he graduated from university, he joined AUBEC (now defunct) to work in the animation industry. After working as a production manager and assistant director, he made his directorial debut with ''Tsuruhime Ja!'' (before that, he had worked in anime and commercials as well). At that same time, he married a female animator. Later, after working as an episode director on '' Sohryuden: Legend of the Dragon Kings'', he left AUBEC and worked at various companies such as Anime Spot and Madhouse, and is currently working as a freelancer. He has been using the hiragana spelling of his name since his days as an assistant director (the Kanji spelling of his name is 上田茂) and this was simply because he believed that the quickest way to become a director was to stand out. Anime
is Traditional animation, hand-drawn and computer animation, computer-generated animation originating from Japan. Madhouse (company)
is a Japanese animation studio founded in 1972 by ex– Mushi Pro staff, including Masao Maruyama, Osamu Dezaki, and Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Madhouse has created and helped to produce many well-known shows, OVAs and films, starting with TV anime series ''Ace o Nerae!'' Hiragana
is a Japanese syllabary, part of the Japanese writing system, along with ''katakana'' as well as ''kanji''. It is a phonetic lettering system. The word ''hiragana'' literally means "flowing" or "simple" kana ("simple" originally as contrasted with kanji). Hiragana and katakana are both kana systems. With few exceptions, each mora in the Japanese language is represented by one character (or one digraph) in each system. Calimero
''Calimero'' is an animated television series about a charming, but hapless anthropomorphized chicken; the only black one in a family of yellow chickens. He wears half of his egg shell still on his head. Calimero originally appeared on the Italian television show ''Carosello'' on July 14, 1963, and soon became a popular icon in Italy. The characters were created by the animation studio Organizzazione Pagot and originated as a series of animated advertisements for Miralanza AVA soap products shown throughout Italy. The creators of the main character were Nino Pagot, Toni Pagot and Ignazio Colnaghi. At the end of each episode, it turns out that Calimero is not actually black, but only very dirty, and becomes white after being washed by the advertised soap products. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mayumi Azuma. The fantasy adventure and a tale of a group of five who are on a journey to Edel Garden, the birthplace of mystical beings called Edel Raids who are described as "living weapons". The manga series has been adapted into an anime television series produced by Xebec (studio), Xebec, two light novels, two video games for the PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Advance and four drama CDs.
