Shelley Williams is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'', played by Carolyn Pickles. Storylines 2003–2005 Character Shelley fell in love with Alan Turner (Richard Thorp), only to face violent opposition from his psychopathic daughter, Steph (Lorraine Chase). Shelley and Steph later became sworn enemies. Shelley left the village for a while but returned to see Alan, much to Steph's annoyance. Alan was "ill" in bed being "looked after" by Steph at this point. Steph lied to Shelley and told her that Alan was asleep and did not want to be disturbed. Shelley told Steph that she was going to collect her things and to see Alan. Steph was angry and pushed Shelley down the cellar stairs and tied her to a chair and gagged her. Steve November (born Steven Frost) is a British television producer and executive. Originally known as Steve Frost during his early career, he became a writer for the Sky One drama ''Dream Team''. He also took roles as an assistant director until he became a scriptwriter on the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. He progressed to become the series producer, a role he then took on at ''Coronation Street'' and ''The Royal''. Nick Brimble
Nicholas Brimble (born 22 July 1944) is an English actor whose long career has spanned theatre, television, film, and voice work. Early life Brimble was born in Bristol. His father was a schoolteacher who was also a keen amateur actor, an activity in which Nick was involved on occasions as a child. For several summers his father also managed a French/Czech high-wire act, the White Devils, and in July 1961 organised their blindfolded high-wire crossing of Cheddar Gorge. When the act toured Britain, the Brimble family travelled with them. Christopher John Chittell (born 19 May 1948) is an English actor, known for his role as Eric Pollard in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. He has portrayed the role since 1986, making him the longest-serving cast member in the soap's history. Biography Early life Chittell was born in Aldershot, Hampshire. Eric Pollard (also Pollock) is a fictional character from the British soap opera ''Emmerdale'', played by Chris Chittell. He made his first appearance in the soap on 30 September 1986. Having appeared continuously since, he is currently the longest-serving actor and the longest-serving character in the history of the soap. Val Pollard
Valerie "Val" Pollard (also Lambert) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, ''Emmerdale'', played by Charlie Hardwick. She made her first screen appearance in the episodes broadcast on 1 February 2004. Val was introduced as the sister of established character Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen).
