Shekhar Gurera
Lalit Kala Academy Shekhar Gurera, or Chander Shekhar Gurera, is an Indian editorial cartoonist, illustrator, and graphic designer. He publishes regular cartoons with comments about India's political and social trends. His daily pocket cartoons appear in several English, Hindi, and regional language daily newspapers ''Punjab Kesari'', ''Hind Samachar'', '' Jag Bani, Nava Bharat, Central Chronicle,'' '' The Pioneer'', '' Sanmarg'' and ''Navodaya Times'' among others. He started his cartoon career in 1984 as a freelancer. Biography Gurera was born on 30 August 1965 in Moga, Punjab, India. He started his pre-university (11th) from DAV College, Abohar, but graduated with a degree in Science from Multani Mal Modi College at Patiala in 1986. After shifting to Gurgaon, Haryana he got the degree in Applied Arts from College of Art at New Delhi in 1990. Moga, Punjab
Moga is a city in the Indian state of Punjab. It was made a part and headquarters of the Moga district (the 17th District in the state) on 24 November 1995, by the then Chief Minister Harcharan Singh Brar. Before becoming a district, Moga was a part of Faridkot District as a tehsil. Moga is situated on the National Highway 95 (NH-95 Ferozpur-Ludhiana road). ''The Pioneer'' is an English-language daily newspaper in India. It is published from multiple locations in India, including Delhi. It is the second oldest English-language newspaper in India still in circulation after ''The Times of India''. In 2010, The Pioneer launched its Hindi version in Lucknow. Author Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936), in his early 20s, worked at the newspaper office in Allahabad as an assistant editor from November 1887 to March 1889. In July 1933, ''The Pioneer'' was sold to a syndicate and moved from Allahabad to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, at which time the ''Pioneer Mail and India Weekly News'' ceased publication.
