Sheikhpura Kothi
Sehikhpura Kothi, currently leased and operated as WelcomHeritage Sheikhpura Kothi, is a heritage building. It was built in 1924 by American architect Dinkelberg for the family of Sir Chhaju Ram Lamba the Jat Zamindar and businessman from Alakhpura, and later leased it to WelcomHeritage Hotels for its current operation as a heritage hotel. It was ranked as the 2nd best hotel in Hisar by TripAdvisor in 2012. James Skinner (East India Company Officer)
Colonel James Skinner (1778 – 4 December 1841) was an Anglo-Indian soldier of the Maratha Empire and the Bengal Army of British India. He became known as ''Sikandar Sahib'' later in life, and is most known for two cavalry regiments he raised for the British at Hansi in 1803, known as 1st Skinner's Horse and 3rd Skinner's Horse (formerly 2nd Skinner's Horse), which are still units of the Indian Army. Fluent in Persian, the court and intellectual language of India in his day, Skinner composed several works in the language, including an extensively illustrated manuscript ''Kitāb-i Tashrīḥ al-Aqvām'' (History of the Origin and Distinguishing Marks of the Different Castes of India), now held by the Library of Congress. Hansi
Hansi, is a city and municipal council in Hisar district in the Indian state of Haryana. It appears that at one time Hansi was larger, more prosperous and more important than Hisar. The town has several important buildings of archeological importance. In 2016, the Haryana government put forward a proposal to carve the new Hansi district out of the Hisar district. History It is believed that Hansi was founded by King Anangpal Vihangpal Tomar for his guru "''Hansakar''" (957 AD). Later, the son of King Anangpal Tomar, Drupad established a sword manufacturing factory in this fort, hence it is also called " Asigarh". Swords from this fort were exported as far away as to Arab countries. National Highway 9 (India)
National Highway 9 (NH 9) is a National Highway in India in east-west direction. It starts at Malout in Punjab and ends at Pithoragarh in Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand. Hisar is a city, municipal corporation and administrative headquarters of Hisar district of Hisar division in the state of Haryana in northwestern India. Seth Chhaju Ram
Seth Sir Chhaju Ram Lamba (1861–1943) was a Jat tycoon from Bhiwani district of then Punjab (British India) (now Haryana state) and made a fortune in Calcutta during the British Raj period. A philanthropist, he undertook many social improvement projects. He financed the higher studies of Sir Chhotu Ram. Early life He was born in a Hindu Jat family in 1861 at Alakhpura in Bawani Khera tehsil, Bhiwani district of then Punjab (current Haryana state).
