Shaykh Ali Khan or Shikh Ali Khan (; 1778, Quba — 1822, Balakhani, Republic of Dagestan, Balakhani) was the last Quba Khanate, khan of Quba before its annexation to Russian Empire. Quba () is a city and the administrative centre of the Quba District of Azerbaijan. Surkhay Khan Kun-Butta () or erroneously Khanbutai, Khon-Butai, Khomutai was an 18th-century Dagestani military leader as well as last independent Gazikumukh Khan. Background He was born in 1744, probably in Kumukh to Muhammad Khan of Gazikumukh and his Azerbaijani wife from Ustajlu tribe. Not much is known about his early life. Gazikumukh Khanate
Gazikumukh Khanate was a Lak state that was established in present-day Dagestan after the disintegration of Gazikumukh Shamkhalate in 1642. Its peoples included various Lezgin tribes and Avars. Agsu ( az, Ağsu) is a city in and capital of the Agsu District of Azerbaijan. Mostafa Khan ( fa, مصطفی خان) was the last khan of Shirvan, until 1820. Biography Mostafa Khan lived in an era of much political upheaval. Salim Khan (Shaki Khan)
Salim Khan () was the sixth khan of Shaki. He was described as kind and joyful, but unmerciful man by Abbasgulu Bakikhanov. Early years He was born to Muhammad Husayn khan Mushtaq and a sister of Pyotr Bagration. He was first mentioned as a rebel lord against his half-brother Muhammad Hasan Khan. He fled to Djaro-Belokani in 1784/1785. He later occupied Shaki when Muhammad Hasan travelled to visit new Qajar shah Agha Muhammad in Karabakh on November or December 1795.
