Ovdan (Balakhani)
The structure, Ovdan, was built in the 14th century in the Balakhani settlement by order of Shirvanshah Emir Khaja Zeynaddin. History The structure of the stairs is as high as that in the palace of the Shirvanshahs. It is believed that after the construction of the Sand Bath, the first periods were supplied with water taken from Ovdan. A very small part of Ovdan is on the ground, the main part is under the ground. 40 underground stairsteps that are carved out of bedrock go straight down to the water source, which is at a distance of 15 meters from the entrance. Since the underground part of the building is in the form of an arched corridor, the possibility of collapse is non-existent due to the pressure of the weight of the soil layer on it. In the past, Balakhani used to get drinkable water from this source. Ovdan was used by the population until the occupation in April 1920. In the following periods, it was neglected. In 2019, restoration of the monument was started. Galler ...

Petroleum Industry In Azerbaijan
The petroleum industry in Azerbaijan produces about of oil per day and 29 billion cubic meters of gas per year as of 2013. Azerbaijan is one of the birthplaces of the oil industry. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (known as SOCAR) is fully state-owned national oil and gas company headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan. SOCAR is a major source of income for the government of Azerbaijan. The company is run in an opaque manner, as it has complex webs of contracts and middlemen that non-government watchdog organizations say have led to the enrichment of the country's ruling elites. First oil boom In 1871, Ivan Mirzoev, an ethnic Armenian who was then an ''otkupchina'' monopolist, built the first wooden oil derrick followed by another the next year. Drilling was conducted primitively with a balance arm, whim and manual pump. Early history There is evidence of petroleum being used in trade as early as the 3rd and 4th centuries. 1 (one, unit, unity) is a number representing a single or the only entity. 1 is also a numerical digit and represents a single unit of counting or measurement. For example, a line segment of ''unit length'' is a line segment of length 1. In conventions of sign where zero is considered neither positive nor negative, 1 is the first and smallest positive integer. It is also sometimes considered the first of the infinite sequence of natural numbers, followed by  2, although by other definitions 1 is the second natural number, following  0. The fundamental mathematical property of 1 is to be a multiplicative identity, meaning that any number multiplied by 1 equals the same number. Most if not all properties of 1 can be deduced from this. In advanced mathematics, a multiplicative identity is often denoted 1, even if it is not a number. 1 is by convention not considered a prime number; this was not universally accepted until the mid-20th century. Additionally, 1 is the s ...
