Shaun de Jager (born 28 June 1991 in Pretoria) is a South African sprinter. He competed in the 4 × 400 m relay event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, de Jager was part of the South African team in the 4x400 metres relay race. In the first semifinal, Ofentse Mogawane fell and dislocated his shoulder when he collided with Kenya's Vincent Kiilu Vincent Mumo Kiilu (born 3 August 1982) is a Kenyan sprint runner and hurdler who has competed in the 2008 and the 2012 Olympic Games. The African Championships in Athletics is a continental athletics event organized by the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), the continental association for the sport in Africa. The men's 4 × 400 metres relay competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom. The event was held at the Olympic Stadium on 9–10 August. It was won by the Bahamas. The qualifying round experienced more drama than is normal in these affairs. In the first heat, on the second leg, Kenya's Vincent Mumo Kiilu was boxed in near the back of the pack, with South Africa's Ofentse Mogawane on his shoulder. Coming into the home straight, Kiilu tried to step to the outside, tripping Mogawane, leaving him injured on the track. The much awaited return of Oscar Pistorius waiting to run the third leg never materialized. South Africa filed a protest in which Kenya was disqualified and South Africa was allowed to run in the final. Conveniently, the London Olympic Stadium track has 9 lanes to accommodate such a circumstance, while normally only 8 lanes are used in Championship meets. Ofentse Mogawane (born 20 February 1982) is a former South African sprinter who specialized in the 400 meters. Career He finished sixth in the 2006 African Championships. He also competed at the 2005 World Championships and the 2006 Commonwealth Games without reaching the finals. In 2007 Mogawane was found guilty of methylprednisolone doping. The sample was delivered on 22 June 2006 in an in-competition test in Algiers, Algeria. He received a public warning from the IAAF rather than a lengthy ban. Mogawane was included in South African team and ran in the 4 × 400 m relay at the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.
