2016 African Championships In Athletics
The 20th African Championships in Athletics was held in Durban, South Africa from 22 to 26 June 2016. It was the second time that Durban and South Africa hosted this competition. 720 athletes from 43 African national federations participated. Jacob Rozani (born 24 January 1988) is a South African middle distance runner. Rozani took first in the 800 meters at the 2014 South African Athletics Championships. Rozani took second in the 800 meters at the 2016 African Championships in Athletics. In this finish, he earned the qualifying standard for the 2016 Olympics. Namakoe Nkhasi (born 10 January 1993) is a Lesotho long-distance runner who competes in distances from 5000 metres to the half marathon. He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He was the bronze medallist in the 10,000 metres at the African Championships in Athletics in 2016. He is the Lesotho national record holder for the 5000 metres, 10000 metres and 10km road race.
