Shanghai 02 F.C. is a defunct Chinese football club based in Shanghai, China. History The club was founded by Xu Genbao in 1995 and was aimed at developing football talents for the participation of the 2002 World Cup, from which the club was named. In 2000, the club participated in China League Two for the first time, but was eliminated by Mianyang F.C. in the semi-finals and narrowly missed promotion to Jia B. In 2002, the club was merged into Shanghai Shenhua after fulfilling its purpose. Yao Lijun
Yao Lijun ( born on 2 October 1981 in Haining, Zhejiang) is a former Chinese football player who played the majority of his career as a defender for Shanghai Shenhua. Club career Yao Lijun began his football career playing for Shanghai 02 where his impressive displays for the club would see him captain the team to numerous youth championships, before joining their senior team that took part in the third tier in the 2000 Chinese league season. After playing in one league season with the club they were taken over by top tier side Shanghai Shenhua and he moved towards their senior team. After making his debut in 2002 he was a squad regular for Shanghai Shenhua where he could play as either right-back or centre-back, however due to his versatility he consistently had other players preferred to when fighting for competition of places, however despite that he was part of the team that went on to win the 2003 Chinese Jia-A League title. The Chinese Football Association Super League, commonly known as Chinese Super League or CSL, currently known as the China Ping An Chinese Football Association Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the highest tier of professional football in China, operating under the auspices of the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The league was established in 2004 by the rebranding of the former top division, Chinese Jia-A League. Initially contested by 12 teams in its inaugural year, the league has since expanded, with 18 teams competing in the 2022 season. A total of 35 teams have competed in the CSL since its inception, with 8 of them winning the title: Guangzhou (eight), Shandong Taishan (four), Shenzhen, Dalian Shide, Changchun Yatai, Beijing Guoan, Shanghai Port, and Jiangsu (all one title). Shanghai East Asia
Shanghai Port FC (), previously named Shanghai SIPG, is a professional football club that participates in the Chinese Super League under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Pudong, Shanghai, and their home stadium is the Pudong Football Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 37,000. Their owners are the Chinese group Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG). The club was founded on 25 December 2005 as Shanghai East Asia FC by former Chinese international footballer Xu Genbao. The club used graduates from the Genbao Football Base, a football academy also founded by Xu, to form their first team as they made their debut in the third tier of China's football league pyramid in the 2006 league season. Zheng Wei () (born June 13, 1981 in Qingdao) is a Chinese football player. Professional career Shanghai Shenhua Zheng Wei started his football career with Shanghai 02 before the club were taken over by Shanghai Shenhua in 2002. Despite being promoted to Shenhua's senior team in 2002, he would have to wait until the 2004 league season before he could make his debut. He would eventually play in 5 league games for Shanghai in the 2004 league season. This however was to prove his most successful season with Shanghai, and despite staying with them for a further two seasons he could only make a further 3 appearances for them. Yu Tao
Yu Tao (; born October 15, 1981 in Shanghai) is a Chinese international football player as a midfielder. Club career Yu Tao began his football career playing for Shanghai 02 before the club was taken over by Shanghai Shenhua and he was promoted to their senior side at the beginning of the 2002 league season, where he made twenty four league games and would score four goals. By the following season, he would become an integral member of the Shenhua team due to his ability to play in numerous positions in the midfield and would help them to win the league 2003 league title. Unfortunately in 2013 the Chinese Football Association would revoke the league title after it was discovered the Shenhua General manager Lou Shifang had bribed officials to be bias to Shenhua in games that season. Sun Xiang
Sun Xiang (; ; born 15 January 1982) is a Chinese former professional footballer who played as a left back. He played for Shanghai Shenhua, Guangzhou Evergrande, Shanghai SIPG in his native country and spent time on loan at Dutch club PSV Eindhoven and Austrian club Austria Wien. At international level, he made 69 appearances for the China national team scoring 5 goals.
