Shane Chapman
Shane "Choppa" Chapman (born 4 July 1978) is a New Zealand super middleweight kickboxer and boxing, boxer, fighting out of City Lee Gar Gym in Auckland. He is the 2002 and 2004 List of K-1 champions, K-1 Oceania MAX champion and 4 time Muay Thai World champion. Biography and career Shane Chapman made his amateur kickboxing debut in 1995 aged 19, winning by technical knockout, TKO. Between 1995 and the latter half of 1997 he had a successful amateur career on the local circuit, winning 8 out of 9 fights and picking up the New Zealand North Island and South Pacific titles at super welterweight. On 18 September 1997 he made his professional Muay Thai debut defeating Norm Graham over 5 rounds at a domestic event in Auckland, New Zealand. Kickboxing is a combat sports, combat sport focused on kicking and punch (strike), punching. Jean-Charles Skarbowsky (born March 10, 1975) is a French former kickboxer and 3-time European Muay Thai champion. Skarbowsky has been called one of the best ''farangs'' who have fought in Thailand. Biography and career His mother emigrated at age 25 from Romania to France. After a flying start to his career, both in France and Thailand, where he accumulated a number of quick victories, he broke his right hand in 1997 while defending his title again in Europe. Split Decision
A split decision (SD) is a winning criterion in boxing, most commonly in full-contact combat sports, in which two of the three judges score one particular competitor as the winner, while the third judge scores for the other competitor. A split decision is different from a majority decision. A majority decision occurs when two judges pick the same competitor as the winner, and the third judge scores the contest a draw (tie). Ole Laursen
Ole 'Iron Fist' Laursen (born August 21, 1977) is a Filipino-born Danish Welterweight Muay Thai kickboxer and mixed martial artist, he competed in K-1 and in ONE Championship. Early life Laursen was born in Manila, Philippines to Danish father and a Spanish-Filipino mother and moved to Denmark with his family when he was two years old. Laursen got involved with martial arts through his older brother Christian, and was 15 when he began training in Muay Thai. Laursen currently lives in Ubon Ratchatani, Thailand and fights out of his own Legacy Gym. A knockout (abbreviated to KO or K.O.) is a fight-ending, winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, mixed martial arts, karate, some forms of taekwondo and other sports involving striking, as well as fighting-based video games. A full knockout is considered any legal strike or combination thereof that renders an opponent unable to continue fighting. Unanimous Decision
A unanimous decision (UD) is a winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts and other sports involving striking and submission in which all three judges agree on which fighter won the match. In boxing, each of the three judges keep score (round by round) of which fighter they feel is winning (and losing). This only includes landed blows to the head or the body. In MMA, judges look for different criteria such as kicks, take downs, punches, knees, elbows, cage control, submission attempts and aggression. A decision is not required to be unanimous for a boxer or mixed martial artist to be given a victory. Albert Kraus
Albert “The Hurricane” Kraus (born August 3, 1980) is a Dutch welterweight kickboxer. He was the first K-1 World MAX Tournament Champion in 2002 and also the first SUPERKOMBAT Middleweight Champion. Kraus has also held four separate world titles in kickboxing and Muay Thai. He is currently fighting out of Super Pro Gym. Biography and career Albert Kraus started boxing at 14 years old, later switching over to kickboxing aged 17 fighting out of Gino Albert Gym in Oss. K-1 World MAX 2002 World Tournament Final
''K-1 World MAX 2002 World Tournament Final'' was a kickboxing event promoted by the K-1 Organisation. It was the inaugural K-1 World MAX final for middleweight kickboxers (70 kg/154 lb weight class), consisting of eight finalists and two reserve fighters, with all bouts fought under K-1 rules. The tournament fighters had qualified via preliminary tournaments or had been invited due to their achievements in the world of kickboxing and Muay Thai (more information on the fighters is displayed by the bulleted list below). In total there were ten fighters at the event, representing seven countries. The tournament winner was Albert Kraus who defeated Kaolan Kaovichit by first round knockout to become the first ever K-1 MAX champion.
