Shakey's V-League 11th Season Open Conference
The Shakey's V-League 11th Season: Open Conference was the 20th conference of Shakey's V-League held between June 29, 2014, to August 31, 2014. The opening ceremonies were held on June 29, 2014, with the first doubleheader of volleyball games at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan. There were eight (8) teams that competed, with the Philippine Army Lady Troopers emerging as the tournament's champion. Tournament Format Preliminaries (PL) Eight (8) competing teams had a Single Round-robin. Top six (6) teams qualified for the Quarterfinals. Quarterfinals (QF) The top six (6) teams battled for the top four (4) spots in a Single Round-robin with their scores from the preliminaries carried over, minus the ones won over the eliminated teams. Philippine Army Lady Troopers
The Philippine Army Lady Troopers, also known as the Black Mamba–Army Lady Troopers for sponsorship reasons, is the official women's professional volleyball team of the Philippine Army. The team is composed of enlisted personnel and reinforced with civilian players from time to time. The Lady Troopers competes in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and has won two Shakey's V-League (predecessor of the PVL) championships. History The Lady Troopers were the first champion in the Philippine Superliga (PSL), winning all two conferences of the inaugural season. Shiela Marie "Bang" Pineda (born January 21, 1991) is a Filipino volleyball athlete. Career Pineda played for Adamson Lady Falcons during the UAAP Season 75 being named Best Server and the UAAP Season 76. She then played for Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns in the 11th Season Open Conference being named Best Digger and 12th Season Reinforced Open Conference before joining Petron Tri-Activ Spikers. In the 2017 season of the Philippine SuperLiga, Pineda and teammate Frances Molina of Petron XCS won the bronze medal in the Beach Challenge Cup. Petron Blaze Spikers swept the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the All-Filipino Conference finals and won the championship. Alyja Daphne "Jaja" Antonio Santiago (born January 20, 1996) is a Filipino volleyball player who currently plays for Saitama Ageo Medics of the Japan's V.League. Personal life Santiago was born on January 20, 1996, the fourth of five siblings. Alyssa Caymo Valdez (; born June 29, 1993) is a Filipino volleyball player who currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers. She was a member of the collegiate varsity women's volleyball team of Ateneo de Manila University in both indoor and beach volleyball. She was most outstanding as an indoor volleyball player where she brought multiple championship titles and a lot of honor for the university. She is a current member of Philippines national team. Cristina Salak (born August 10, 1976) is a Filipino volleyball coach and former volleyball player. Career She was part of the national team that won bronze medal in the 2005 SEA Games in the women's indoor volleyball. She also competed under the Philippine flag in the 2005 AVC Qualification for the 2006 FIVB Women's World Championship held at Ratchaburi, Thailand.
