Philippine Army Lady Troopers
The Philippine Army Lady Troopers, also known as the Black Mamba–Army Lady Troopers for sponsorship reasons, is the official women's professional volleyball team of the Philippine Army. The team is composed of enlisted personnel and reinforced with civilian players from time to time. The Lady Troopers competes in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and has won two Shakey's V-League (predecessor of the PVL) championships. History The Lady Troopers were the first champion in the Philippine Superliga (PSL), winning all two conferences of the inaugural season. The team played in the PSL in partnership with various corporate sponsors. During the 2013 season, it was sponsored by TMS Ship Agencies, Inc. and played as TMS-Philippine Army Lady Troopers and in the 2014 All-Filipino, it partnered with Generika Drugstore and played as the Generika-Army Lady Troopers. Angela Nunag
Angela Nunag (born December 21, 1991) is a Filipino volleyball athlete. She is currently playing for the Cignal HD Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League. Volleyball career Nunag plays as the Libero of the Philippine Army Lady Troopers in 2012 up to 2016. In 2017, she played for the Creamline Cool Smashers and her team became Bronze medalist in the 2017 PVL Open Conference. In 2018, she transferred back to Philippine Army Lady Troopers and she won best Libero in 2019. In 2020, she played for the Petron Blaze Spikers in the PSL but the tournament was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, she played again for the Philippine Army Lady Troopers. In 2023, she became the captain of her team in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference. RC Cola Raiders
The RC Cola-Army Troopers were a professional women's volleyball team in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). It debuted as the RC Cola Raiders in the 2013 Grand Prix Conference of the PSL. The team is owned by ARC Refreshments Corporation, the Philippine licensee of Royal Crown Cola International. From 2014 to 2015, it partnered with the official women's volleyball team of the Philippine Air Force and played as the RC Cola-Air Force Raiders. For the 2016 season, it partnered with the Philippine Army Lady Troopers and played as the RC Cola-Army Troopers. 2022 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference
The 2022 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference was the eleventh conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''38th conference of the former Shakey's V-League'') and its second conference as a professional league. The conference was held from March 16 to April 8, 2022, pending restrictions brought by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A pool play format will be adapted for the first time wherein teams will be divided into two pools as opposed to a round-robin format where all teams play against each other at least once. Preliminary round was held at the Paco Arena in Manila. Quarterfinal round and Semifinals Game 1 & 3 was held at the San Juan Arena in San Juan. Mary Jean Balse-Pabayo (born May 31, 1983), known as Ging Balse, is a Filipina volleyball player. 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference
The 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference was the twelfth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''39th conference of the former Shakey's V-League'') and its third conference as a professional league. The tournament began on July 9, 2022. Originally slated for the July 2, the tournament was pushed back due to the requests of the club teams. This is the first (''second for the former SVL'') conference of the league to commence an invitational conference. A total of eight teams will compete in this event, including one international team — KingWhale Taipei from Taiwan. 2021 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference
The 2021 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference was the tenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''37th conference of the former Shakey's V-League conference results, Shakey's V-League'') and its first conference as a professional league. The conference started on July 17, 2021 and ended on August 13, 2021, at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte in a bubble. The PVL has been approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to begin team practices to be followed by the official start of the 2021 season. Smart-Army Giga Hitters
The PLDT High Speed Hitters (formerly the Smart Giga Hitters and the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters) is the professional women's volleyball team owned by PLDT. History The team debuted in 2018 as the Smart Prepaid Giga Hitters. The team was owned by Smart Communications. For the 2018 PSL Invitational Cup, the team partnered with the Philippine Army Lady Troopers and competed as the Smart–Army Giga Hitters. In September 2018, the PayMaya High Flyers, their affiliate team in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), was merged with the team. In February 2019, the Smart Prepaid Giga Hitters changed its name to the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters. The team transferred to the PVL in February 2021, following the league's professionalization. The 2021 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season was the fourth season of the Premier Volleyball League (17th season of the former Shakey's V-League) and the first season of the PVL as a professional league. No tournament was held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2021 season was staged with precautionary measures. Changes Professional status The Games and Amusements Board in October 2020 issued a directive that it would consider players compensated for non-national team play would be considered as professionals, as well as that for all sporting events organized for profit as professional in nature.
