Shahrzad (TV Series)
''Shahrzad'' ( fa, شهرزاد, Shahrzād) is an Iranian romantic and historical drama series written by Hassan Fathi and Naghmeh Samini, produced by Mohammad Emami and directed by Hassan Fathi The storyline is set around and after the 1953 Iranian coup d'état. The series is licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran and available online and in CDs around the country. Due to its international popularity, it has been dubbed and aired in Urdu, Arabic, French, Spanish and Russian. It stars Ali Nassirian, Taraneh Alidoosti, Shahab Hosseini, Mostafa Zamani and Parinaz Izadyar. In the first few episodes, the singer of the series was Alireza Ghorbani. Then Mohsen Chavoshi and Sina Sarlak replaced him. In the last two episodes, Amin Bani and Farnaz Maleki were added to the series' singers. Roya Nonahali
Roya Nonahali ( fa, رویا نونهالی; born February 13, 1963) is an Iranian actress and director. She studied painting, and has worked in theatre since 1984. Nonahali started film acting with ''The Beloved Is at Home'' (1987, by Khosrow Sinai). Then she was selected by Mohsen Makhmalbaf for ''Marriage of the Blessed'' and received an award from Fajr International Film Festival. Her performance in ''Smell of Camphor, Fragrance of Jasmine'' was awarded with the Best Supporting Actress award at the festival. She started acting in TV programs by ''Asleep & Awake'' in 2001. Alireza Ghorbani
Alireza Ghorbani ( fa, علیرضا قربانی; born 4 February 1972) is an Iranian traditional vocalist. Biography He began his career by reciting the Quran. Soon he began eagerly learning traditional Iranian music. In 1984, he was fascinated by compilations of poetry and music and the insight of Iranian music under the supervision of his first mentors: Khosro Soltani, Behrooz Abedini, Mahdi Fallah, Hossein Omoumi, Ahmad Ebrahimi and also Razavi Sarvestani. His acquaintance with Ali Tajvidi and Farhad Fakhreddini led him to new horizons of Iranian music. He has taken part in many important festivals all over the world together with many musicians. Ali Nassirian ( fa, علی نصیریان; born 4 February 1935) is an Iranian actor and director. He has received various accolades, including a Crystal Simorgh and a Hafez Award. Film career He first appeared in a supporting role in Dariush Mehrjui's '' The Cow'' (1969) alongside Ezatollah Entezami, another Iranian actor. Nassirian then played the title role of '' Mr. Naive'' (1970), also by Mehrjui. 1953 Iranian Coup D'état
The 1953 Iranian coup d'état, known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup d'état ( fa, کودتای ۲۸ مرداد), was the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in favor of strengthening the monarchical rule of the Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, on 19 August 1953. It was aided by the United States (under the name TPAJAX Project or "Operation Ajax") and the United Kingdom (under the name "Operation Boot"). The clergy also played a considerable role. Mosaddegh had sought to audit the documents of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC), a British corporation (now part of BP), in order to verify that AIOC was paying the contracted royalties to Iran, and to limit the company's control over Iranian oil reserves.
