Ali Nassirian
Ali Nassirian ( fa, علی نصیریان; born 4 February 1935) is an Iranian actor and director. He has received various accolades, including a Crystal Simorgh and a Hafez Award. Film career He first appeared in a supporting role in Dariush Mehrjui's '' The Cow'' (1969) alongside Ezatollah Entezami, another Iranian actor. Nassirian then played the title role of '' Mr. Naive'' (1970), also by Mehrjui. His other films include: ''The Postman'' (1971), '' The Cycle'' (1974), ''The Mandrake'' (1975), ''Kamalolmolk'' (1983), ''Mirza Norouz's Shoes'' (1985), ''Stone Lion'' (1986), '' Captain Khorshid'' (1987), '' The Scent of Joseph's Shirt'' (1995), and '' Iron Island'' (2005), ''Masxarebaz'' (2019) for which he received the Crystal Simorgh award for the best supporting actor. The Cow (1969 Film)
''The Cow'' ( fa, گاو, ''Gāv'' or ''Gav'') is a 1969 Iranian film directed by Dariush Mehrjui, written by Gholam-Hossein Saedi based on his own play and novel, and starring Ezzatolah Entezami as Masht Hassan. Some critics consider it the first film of the Iranian New Wave. Plot The story begins by showcasing the close relationship between a middle-aged Iranian villager Masht Hassan and his beloved cow. Hassan is married but has no children. His only valuable property is a cow that he cherishes as the only cow in the village. When Hassan must leave the village for a short time, the pregnant cow is found dead in the barn. Hassan's fellow villagers fear his reaction and cover up the evidence of the death and tell him upon his return that his cow has run away. Mohsen Moeini (born 27 March) is an Iranian author and director. His work mainly centers around his philosophical and historical preoccupations. As well as directing his own plays, he has directed plays by foreign authors such as Peter Handke and Rainer Werner Fassbinder whose works he staged in Iran for the first time. He has directed the first play to be staged in the Milad Tower.
