Shah Alamgir
Shah Alamgir (died 28 February 2019) was a Bangladeshi journalist. He served as the Director General of Press Institute of Bangladesh. He joined the post on 7 July 2013. Before joining PIB, he worked as a journalist. Birth and family identity Alamgir was born in Brahmanbaria district. Due to his father's job, he spent a large part of his life in greater Mymensingh. Education life He passed HSC from Gauripur College, Mymensingh. Later, he completed his graduation and post-graduation in Bangla literature from University of Dhaka. He also completed his higher degree course of journalism from the Moscow Institute of Journalism, conducted by Thomson Foundation. Career Alamgir's journalism career started from his student life. He started his career through joining the first child-teen weekly '' Kishore Bangla''. He worked as the co-editor there from 1980 to 1984. University Of Dhaka
The University of Dhaka (also known as Dhaka University, or DU) is a public research university located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the oldest university in Bangladesh. The university opened its doors to students on July 1st 1921. Currently it is the largest public research university in Bangladesh, with a student body of 46,150 and a faculty of 1,992. Ekushey Television ( bn, একুশে টেলিভিশন; , in reference to 21 February), also known by its acronym ETV, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel owned by S. Alam Group of Industries. It is headquartered in Kawran Bazar, Dhaka, and is Bangladesh's first privately owned television channel to broadcast news and current affairs programming. Ekushey Television was launched on 14 April 2000 by A.S. Mahmud, with the "Poribortone Ongikarboddho" (পরিবর্তনে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ; ) slogan, which is still used today, as a privately owned nationwide terrestrial television network, the first of its kind in Bangladesh and the region of South Asia in general. It was launched on 1 October 1999, as Bangladesh's first digital television channel. It is one of the oldest satellite television channels in Bangladesh. ''Kishore Bangla'' ( bn, কিশোর বাংলা ) is the first juvenile weekly newspaper ever published in Bengali language. Background The publication of this newspaper commenced in 1977 at the behest of the Bangladesh government. It was published from the 'Observer House' and the eminent journalist and editor of weekly cine-magazine the '' Chitrali'', Syed Mohammad Parvez, was appointed the editor.
