Shag Rock (band)
Shag Rock are an Australian indie-rock group formed in 2011, but according to the band themselves, began being “serious" in 2015. The group's name refers to a rock off North Stradbroke Island, where they went to frequently as children. In early 2015, Shag Rock were signed to the independent label Airlock Records, founded by Powderfinger's Ian Haug Ian Haug (born 21 February 1970) is an Australian musician and the lead guitarist, songwriter, and backing vocalist in the rock band Powderfinger from its formation in 1989 until its breakup in 2010. The Music
The Music are an English alternative rock band, formed in Kippax, Leeds in 1999. Comprising Robert Harvey (vocals, guitar), Adam Nutter (lead guitar), Stuart Coleman (bass) and Phil Jordan (drums), the band came to prominence with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2002. The band released two further studio albums, '' Welcome to the North'' (2004) and ''Strength in Numbers'' (2008), before parting ways in 2011. Career The Music all met at Brigshaw High School (except Phil Jordan, who went to Garforth), and began playing in 1999 as Insense. In 2001, the song " Take the Long Road and Walk It" circulated as a demo before being released by Fierce Panda as a 1000-copies-only single, a rarity from its day of release. North Stradbroke Island
North Stradbroke Island ( Jandai: ''Minjerribah''), colloquially ''Straddie'' or ''North Straddie'', is an island that lies within Moreton Bay in the Australian state of Queensland, southeast of the centre of Brisbane. Originally there was only one Stradbroke Island but in 1896 it split into North Stradbroke Island and South Stradbroke Island separated by the Jumpinpin Channel. The Quandamooka people are the traditional owners of North Stradbroke island. The island is divided into four localities: Dunwich, Amity and Point Lookout are small localities centred on the towns of the same name, while the remainder of the island is in the locality of North Stradbroke Island. Powderfinger
Powderfinger were an Australian rock band formed in Brisbane in 1989. From 1992 until their break-up in 2010, the line-up consisted of vocalist Bernard Fanning, guitarists Darren Middleton and Ian Haug, bass guitarist John Collins and drummer Jon Coghill. The group's third studio album ''Internationalist'' peaked at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in September 1998. They followed with four more number-one studio albums in a row: ''Odyssey Number Five'' (September 2000), '' Vulture Street'' (July 2003), ''Dream Days at the Hotel Existence'' (June 2007) and '' Golden Rule'' (November 2009). Ian Haug
Ian Haug (born 21 February 1970) is an Australian musician and the lead guitarist, songwriter, and backing vocalist in the rock band Powderfinger from its formation in 1989 until its breakup in 2010. He is presently a member of The Church. Powderfinger Powderfinger was formed in 1989 by vocalist and guitarist Ian Haug, bass guitarist John Collins and drummer Steven Bishop, who took their band's name from the Neil Young song "Powderfinger". Before the band's formation, Haug had played in other Brisbane-based outfits. The band later sought an extra guitarist, Bernard Fanning, who Haug had met in a university class. Fanning took over the role of lead vocals from Haug, and at the same time Jon Coghill joined, replacing Bishop. Powderfinger's final line-up change came with the addition of guitarist Darren Middleton. The line-up of Coghill, Collins, Fanning, Haug and Middleton remained unchanged from 1992 onwards.
