Ian Haug (born 21 February 1970) is an Australian musician and the lead guitarist, songwriter, and backing vocalist in the rock band Powderfinger from its formation in 1989 until its breakup in 2010. He is presently a member of The Church. Powderfinger Powderfinger was formed in 1989 by vocalist and guitarist Ian Haug, bass guitarist John Collins and drummer Steven Bishop, who took their band's name from the Neil Young song "Powderfinger". Before the band's formation, Haug had played in other Brisbane-based outfits. The band later sought an extra guitarist, Bernard Fanning, who Haug had met in a university class. Fanning took over the role of lead vocals from Haug, and at the same time Jon Coghill joined, replacing Bishop. Powderfinger's final line-up change came with the addition of guitarist Darren Middleton. The line-up of Coghill, Collins, Fanning, Haug and Middleton remained unchanged from 1992 onwards. Starfish
Starfish or sea stars are star-shaped echinoderms belonging to the class Asteroidea (). Common usage frequently finds these names being also applied to ophiuroids, which are correctly referred to as brittle stars or basket stars. Starfish are also known as asteroids due to being in the class Asteroidea. About 1,900 species of starfish live on the seabed in all the world's oceans, from warm, tropical zones to frigid, polar regions. They are found from the intertidal zone down to abyssal depths, at below the surface. Starfish are marine invertebrates. They typically have a central disc and usually five arms, though some species have a larger number of arms. The aboral or upper surface may be smooth, granular or spiny, and is covered with overlapping plates. Many species are brightly coloured in various shades of red or orange, while others are blue, grey or brown. Starfish have tube feet operated by a hydraulic system and a mouth at the centre of the oral or lower surface. ...

Man Woman Life Death Infinity
''Man Woman Life Death Infinity'' is the 25th album by the Australian alternative rock band The Church, released in October 2017. The album was the second by the band to feature the lineup of Steve Kilbey, Peter Koppes, Tim Powles, and Ian Haug. Haug joined the band in 2013 following the departure of longtime guitarist Marty Willson-Piper, and, according to Powles, was "surprised to discover how much improvisation was involved in the writing process" of the band; Powles went on to note that ''Man Woman Life Death Infinity'' was a unique record for the band because prior to recording, they set aside time to structure the songs instead of relying largely upon improvisation during the recording process. Further/Deeper
''Further/Deeper'' is the 24th album by the Australian alternative rock band The Church, released in October 2014. It was the first Church album in five years, during which time founding guitarist Marty Willson-Piper moved to Sweden and was replaced by former Powderfinger guitarist Ian Haug. Kilbey said Haug was asked to join the band on the album only after he had tried for six months to contact Willson-Piper. "Marty wasn't kicked out or asked to leave. He went to Sweden and when I started writing to him to say let's make an album, he didn't even write back. I tried to contact him by every known means and he didn't reply, so we say he is 'unavailable'." He said drummer Tim Powles had suggested Haug—a fan of The Church since his teenage years—as a new guitarist. Haug joined the band in Sydney to record and in five days co-wrote more than 20 songs. "Ian's enthusiasm re-energised us," Kilbey said. "I'm not blaming Marty for this, but a certain cynicism and scepticism was s ...
