Seyed Peyman Hosseini
Seyed Peyman Hosseini (born 16 February 1984) is an Iranian beach soccer player who plays for Shahriar Sari in the Iran Premier Beach Soccer League. He plays in the goalkeeper position. Hosseini has represented Iran at three FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups (2013, 2015, and 2017). Hosseini is known as one of his generation's best beach soccer goalkeepers and was named the best goalkeeper in the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, in which Iran finished in third place, and also named the best goalkeeper in the world for the year 2017. Club career Shamoushak Hosseini started his career playing association football with the youth teams of Shamoushak Noshahr. He made his debut with the first team in 2005 in a match against Bargh Shiraz. After the age of 22 he switched to playing Beach soccer. International career Hosseini joined the Iran national beach soccer team in 2011 and became the number one goalkeeper in 2012. The 2013 AFC Beach Soccer Championship was a continental beach soccer tournament which took place from 22 to 26 January 2013, at a temporary stadium and adjacent pitch on the Katara Beach in Doha, Qatar. The stadium will have a capacity of 3,000 spectators. The two finalists and the third place play-off winner earned qualification to represent Asia at the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Papeete, Tahiti. The Asian Beach Games, also known as ABG, is a multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The Games are described as the second or third largest Asian multi-sport event, after the Asian Games. Its popularity is increasing due to the low cost of temporary venues, with beaches and oceans already available, while spectators and tourists are also already available in sand and sea tourist areas. In its history, six countries have hosted the Asian Beach Games. Forty-five nations have participated in the Games. The 2015 AFC Beach Soccer Championship was a beach soccer tournament which took place in Doha, Qatar on 23–28 March 2015. This was the second consecutive time that the AFC Beach Soccer Championship was held in Doha. All matches were played at the Katara Beach. The tournament served as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifier for teams from Asia which are members of AFC, where the top three teams qualified for the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal.
