''Seven Idiots'' is a studio album by World's End Girlfriend. It was originally released via Virgin Babylon Records in Japan on 14 September 2010. It peaked at number 86 on the Oricon Albums Chart. It was re-released via Erased Tapes Records in Europe and North America the following year. A music video was created for "Les Enfants du Paradis". Critical reception Jedd Beaudoin of ''PopMatters'' gave the album 9 out of 10 stars, commenting that "Japanese genius World's End Girlfriend returns with a seriously strange and beautiful range of songs, sounds, and styles on its latest release, ''Seven Idiots''." Meanwhile, Ned Raggett of AllMusic gave the album 3.5 out of 5 stars, calling it "a series of achievements that are unquestionably technically impressive, yet ultimately tiring when piled one on top of the other." World's End Girlfriend
, better known by his stage name World's End Girlfriend, is a Japanese musician from Gotō Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture. He is the founder of the record label Virgin Babylon Records. Biography Katsuhiko Maeda was born on 1 November 1975 in Gotō Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture. At the age of 10, he started making music. His debut studio album, ''Ending Story'', was released in 2000. It was followed by ''Farewell Kingdom'' (2001). In 2005, he released a collaborative album with Mono, titled '' Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain''. In February 2007, American webzine '' Somewhere Cold'' voted ''Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain'' No. 7 on their ''2006 Somewhere Cold Awards Hall of Fame''. Oricon Albums Chart
The Oricon Albums Chart is the Japanese music industry standard albums popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Oricon originally published LP, CT, Cartridge and CD charts prior to the establishment of the Oricon Albums Chart on October 5, 1987. The Oricon Albums Chart's rankings are based on physical albums' sales. Oricon did not include download sales until its establishment of the Digital Albums Chart on November 19, 2016. In November 2018, Oricon began to include streaming in its album rankings, introducing a combined album chart based on album-equivalent units. Charts are published every Tuesday in Oricon Style and on Oricon's official website. Every Monday, Oricon receives data from outlets, but data on merchandise sold through certain channels does not make it into the charts.
