Sergey Solovyov (politician)
Sergey Anatolievich Soloviev (russian: Сергей Анатольевич Соловьёв; 9 April 1985, Moscow) is a Russian political figure, deputy of the 8th State Duma. From 1978 to 1985, Soloviev served at the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Soviet Union), Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. In the 1990s, Soloviev worked as an administrator at the Leningrad branch of the Soviet cultural fund, commercial director of the Vesuvius LLP, and as president of the Interregional Fund for European Cooperation and Development. In 2000, he was elected deputy of the municipal council of the Admiralteysky District of Saint Petersburg. From 2004 to 2007, Soloviev served as deputy and as head of the Sennoy Municipal Okrug. In 2007–2011, he was the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg of the 4th convocation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR (MVD; russian: Министерство внутренних дел СССР (МВД)) was the interior ministry of the Soviet Union from 1946 to 1991. The MVD was established as the successor to the NKVD during reform of the People's Commissariats into the Ministries of the Soviet Union in 1946. The MVD did not include agencies concerned with secret policing unlike the NKVD, with the function being assigned to the Ministry of State Security (MGB). The MVD and MGB were briefly merged into a single ministry from March 1953 until the MGB was split off as the Committee for State Security (KGB) in March 1954. The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the 8th convocation (russian: Государственная Дума Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации восьмого созыва) is the current convocation of the lower house of Russian parliament. The composition of the 8th State Duma was determined based on the results of the 2021 legislative election. Elections were held using a mixed system: 225 deputies were elected on party lists and 225 — in single-member constituencies.
