Sehra (film)
''Sehra'' (Desert) is a 1963 Hindi romantic family drama film directed by V. Shantaram. The story and dialogue writer was Shams Lucknowi, while the screenplay was by Shantaram. Made by Shantaram Productions, it had music composed by Ramlal with lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri. The actress Mumtaz played a small character role in this film and also in Shantaram's earlier '' Stree'' (1961). The film starred Sandhya, Prashant, Mumtaz, Lalita Pawar, Manmohan Krishan, Ulhas, Babloo, M. Rajan and Baburao Pendharkar. Krishanrao Vashirde won the Best Cinematography (Colour) Filmfare Awards. Sandhya Shantaram
Sandhya Shantaram (née Vijaya Deshmukh) is an Indian actress born in 1938. She is best known for her appearances in various Hindi and Marathi films directed by her husband V. Shantaram, in 1950s-1960s, most notably ''Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje'' (1955), ''Do Aankhen Barah Haath'' (1958), ''Navrang'' (1959), Marathi film '' Pinjra'' (1972) and ''Amar Bhoopali'' (1951). Career Sandhya was discovered by V. Shantaram when he was seeking new faces to cast for his film ''Amar Bhoopali'' (1951). The young woman did not have outstanding features or talent, but what struck the filmmaker was that she had a good voice, one that strangely resembled that of his second wife, the actress Jayshree. She later married him after Jayshree left him. In 1952, Sandhya debuted as an actress in his Marathi film ''Amar Bhoopali'' in the role of a vocalist, the object of poet Honaji Bala's desire. Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent. Ravi Kapoor ( ; born 7 April 1942), known mononymously by his screen name Jeetendra, is an Indian actor who is known for his work in Hindi cinema. He also serves as the chairman of the Balaji Telefilms and Balaji Motion Pictures. Early life Jeetendra was born in a Punjabi Khatri family as Ravi Kapoor in Amritsar, Punjab, to Amarnath and Krishna Kapoor, whose business dealt with imitation jewellery, supplied to film industry. He attended St. Sebastian's Goan High School in Girgaum, Mumbai with his friend Rajesh Khanna and then studied at Siddharth College in Mumbai. While supplying jewellery to V. Keshavrao Date (1889–1971) was an Indian film actor, who worked in both silent and sound movies. He tried to run his own drama company but found it difficult to perform the dual roles of manager and actor. Career His role in the drama ''Andhalyanchi Shala'' ("The Blinds' School", 1933) won him rave reviews, subsequently he became a star, and also joined the Prabhat Film Company. Manmohan Krishna (26 February 1922 – 3 November 1990) was a popular Indian film actor and director, who worked in Hindi films for four decades, mostly as a character actor. He started his career as a professor in Physics and held master's degree in physics. He anchored the radio show ''Cadbury's Phulwari'', a singing contest.
