Sargam (1979 Film)
''Sargam'' is a 1979 Hindi-language drama film written and directed by K. Viswanath. It was a remake of his earlier Telugu film ''Siri Siri Muvva'' (1976), which also starred Jaya Prada and made her a star in South India. She made her Hindi film debut with this film, repeating her role of a mute dancer. The film stars Rishi Kapoor as her partner, Shashikala as her stepmother, Shreeram Lagoo as her father, with Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Asrani, Vijay Arora and Om Shivpuri. Laxmikant-Pyarelal composed the memorable songs, which won the only Filmfare Award for the film. Anand Bakshi wrote the lyrics. Mohammed Rafi has sung all seven songs, three of them were duets with Lata Mangeshkar, including the famous song, "Dafliwale Dafli Baja", "Koyal Boli, Duniya Doli" and "Parbat Ke Us Paar". Swara
Svara or swara (Devanagari: स्वर, generally pronounced as ''swar'') is a Sanskrit word that connotes simultaneously a breath, a vowel, the sound of a musical note corresponding to its name, and the successive steps of the octave or ''saptaka''. Vijay Arora (27 December 1944 – 2 February 2007) was an Indian actor in Hindi films and television serials who was known for ''Yaadon Ki Baaraat'' and as Indrajit in the television serial '' Ramayan''. Career He also appeared in the series ''Bharat Ek Khoj'', directed by Shyam Benegal as Prince Salim/Emperor Jahangir. Jankidas
Jankidas Mehra (1910 – 18 June 2003) was an Indian actor of Hindi cinema, cyclist, production designer, and writer. He made over 1000 film appearances between the 1930s and 1997. Biography Sports Jankidas served as the only Indian member of the International Olympic Committee at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin along with Hockey legend Major Dhyanchand and was the only Indian to have broken the world record in cycling between 1934 and 1942. In the 1940s, along with Sohrab Bhoot, he founded the Cycling Federation of India. Films Jankidas debuted in films playing a major role in '' Khazanchi'' (1941), produced in Lahore. Dheeraj Kumar (born 1 October 1944) is an Indian actor, television producer and director. He started Creative Eye Limited, a television production house in 1986. He has acted in both Bollywood and Punjabi films, including '' Sargam'' (1979), '' Roti Kapada Aur Makaan'' (1974) and '' Beharoopia'' (1971). Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent.
