Jankidas
Jankidas Mehra (1910 – 18 June 2003) was an Indian actor of Hindi cinema, cyclist, production designer, and writer. He made over 1000 film appearances between the 1930s and 1997. Biography Sports Jankidas served as the only Indian member of the International Olympic Committee at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin along with Hockey legend Major Dhyanchand and was the only Indian to have broken the world record in cycling between 1934 and 1942. In the 1940s, along with Sohrab Bhoot, he founded the Cycling Federation of India. Films Jankidas debuted in films playing a major role in '' Khazanchi'' (1941), produced in Lahore. He was not seen again until 1946, when he would appear in '' Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani''. From then on he would continue to play roles with increasing vigour over the years. Daulat (1949 Film)
''Dawlat'' () is a 1949 Indian comedy film directed by Sohrab Modi, produced by Minerva Movietone and starring Madhubala and Mahipal in lead roles. The music for the film was composed by Hanuman Prasad. It revolves around a young man trying to impress a rich father in order to marry his beautiful daughter. ''Daulat'' was the first time Madhubala was cast in a lead role, but the film, which began filming in 1947, was not completed until 1949, by which a number of her films in starring roles had been already released. Released on 1 April 1949, ''Daulat'' failed commercially and received criticism for its direction and story. No print of the film is known to survive today, thereby making it a lost film. Cycling Federation Of India
The Cycling Federation of India is the national governing body of cycle racing in India. It is a member of the UCI and the Asian Cycling Confederation. Cycling as a sport was introduced in India thanks to the effort of actor and sportsman Jankidas in the mid 1930s. It reached its international level when Jankidas and his manager Swami Jagan Nath participated in the 1938 British Empire Games at Sydney. With the pioneering of these two, Indian cycling was able to secure its affiliation to the National Cyclists' Union of England. A few years later, another stalwart, Sohrab H. Bhoot of Bombay, joined Jankidas to form the National Cyclists' Federation of India in 1946, and they registered this new body with the world governing association, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Hamara Ghar (Our Home) is a 1950 Hindi family drama film made by 'Hindustan Chitra' and directed by Nanabhai Bhatt (father of Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt). Music is by Chitragupta Shrivastava. Sohrab Bhoot
Sohrab H. Bhoot (or Sorabji Bhoot or Sorab Bhoot) (1891 – 9 January 1984) was an Indian Olympian administrator and sports administrator in the early and middle 20th century. Biography Bhoot's major accomplishments were to serve as: * Manager of India's first Olympic team at the 1920 Olympics in Antwerp. He was also a selector and administrator for the Indian team at four other Olympics. * President of the National Cycling Federation of India. Khushbu Sundar (born Nakhat Khan; 29 September 1970) is an Indian actress, politician, film producer and television presenter. She is known for her works predominantly in Tamil, besides Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada films.
