The municipalities of Brazil () are administrative divisions of the states of Brazil, Brazilian states. Brazil currently has 5,571 municipalities, which, given the 2019 population estimate of 210,147,125, makes an average municipality population of 37,728 inhabitants. The average state in Brazil has 214 municipalities. Roraima is the least subdivided state, with 15 municipalities, while Minas Gerais is the most, with 853. The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistical composite index of life expectancy, Education Index, education (mean years of schooling completed and expected years of schooling upon entering the education system), and per capita income indicators, which is used to rank countries into four tiers of Human development (humanity), human development. Hélio Garcia
Hélio de Carvalho Garcia (March 16, 1931 – June 6, 2016) was a Brazilian lawyer and politician. He served as governor of Minas Gerais from 1984 to 1987 and again from 1991 until 1995. Biography Garcia was born in Santo Antônio do Amparo, Minas Gerais, on March 16, 1931. He received his law degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Belo Horizonte. He began his political career as a state deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais from 1963 to 1967. Political career In 1982, Garcia was elected vice governor of Minas Gerais as the running mate of Tancredo Neves during the country's first direct gubernatorial elections since military rule.
