Sanish Shrestha
Sanish Shrestha ( ne, सनिश श्रेष्ठ; born 9 November 2000) is a Nepalese professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Martyr's Memorial A-Division League club Machhindra and the Nepal national team. Club career Sanish, who joined Nepal A.P.F. in 2021 after making an impact with Friends Club in the A Division League, was named the league's best player in the 2023 season. He had also won the best defender award in the 2021 Birat Gold Cup. At APF, he played as a right back and later shifted to a more central defensive role when the club's Ivorian center back Adama Doumbia was suspended due to a red card. The 2023 ''Martyr's Memorial'' A-Division League ( Nepali: शहीद स्मारक ए डिभिजन लिग २०७९) was the 45th edition of the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League since its establishment in 1954–55. A total of 14 teams competed in the league. Machhindra F.C. were the defending champions. The league was scheduled to begin on 10 January 2023 but was pushed back to begin on 3 March 2023 due to a conflict between the All Nepal Football Association and the clubs regarding up-front payments.
