Sandelingen-Ambacht
Sandelingen Ambacht is a polder about 12 km southeast of Rotterdam and a neighborhood of Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, South Holland. History Sandelingen Ambacht became a separate municipality in 1817, when it separated from Rijsoord. In 1840, the community of Sandelingen Ambacht had 32 houses and 390 residents. Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht () is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands. It is located on the island of IJsselmonde, and borders with Zwijndrecht, Ridderkerk, and the Noord River (with Alblasserdam and Papendrecht on the other side). A polder () is a low-lying tract of land that forms an artificial hydrological entity, enclosed by embankments known as dikes. Rijsoord
Rijsoord is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located about 10 km southeast of the city of Rotterdam, in the municipality of Ridderkerk. Rijsoord was a separate municipality until 1855, when it merged with Ridderkerk. Between 1846 and 1855, it was named "Rijsoort en Strevelshoek" after a merger with the smaller municipality of Strevelshoek. The current village is largely located north of the Waaltje (little Waal) river, outside the area of the former municipality.
