San Lorenzo Martire, Zogno
San Lorenzo Martire is a Roman Catholic church located in Zogno, region of Lombardy, Italy. History A church on the site was begun in 1431 just outside the castle in the town. By 1458, it was within the town walls, but incomplete. Construction of the bell-tower, the long staircase leading the church, the adjacent cemetery, and interior decoration occurred afterwards. In 1472, the church was consecrated. The statue of St Lawrence, atop the bell-tower, was made by Francesco Albera of Milan, who also sculpted the 12 apostles depicted in the interior. Palma Vecchio (c. 1480 – 30 July 1528), born Jacopo Palma, also known as Jacopo Negretti, was a Venetian painter of the Italian High Renaissance. He is called Palma Vecchio in English and Palma il Vecchio in Italian ("Palma the Elder") to distinguish him from Palma il Giovane ("Palma the Younger"), his great-nephew, who was also a painter. Enrico Albrici (1714–1775) was an Italian painter of the late Baroque. His surname is alternatively spelled or Alberici or Albrizzi or Albricci. He was born at Vilminore di Scalve in province of Bergamo, and was a pupil of Ferdinando del Cairo of Brescia, under whom he studied three years. Giovanni Paolo Cavagna (c. 1550 – May 20, 1627) was an Italian painter of the late-Renaissance period, active mainly in Bergamo and Brescia. Biography He was born in Borgo di San Leonardo in Bergamo. He is said to have trained in Venice with the studio of an elder Titian, then became a pupil of Giovanni Battista Moroni in Bergamo. Other sources list Cristoforo Baschenis the elder as his tutor. Francesco Zucco
Francesco Zucco (, c.1570 – May 3, 1627) was an Italian painter. Zucco was born in Bergamo. The year of his birth is uncertain, but is known to be no later than 1575. Zucco studied art for a time in Cremona before returning to Bergamo; there he associated with painters such as Giovanni Paolo Cavagna and Enea Salmeggia. He painted both religious and secular pieces in a fairly traditional Baroque style; the ''Adoration of the Magi'' and ''Virgin and Child'' in the parish church of Levate are reminiscent of the work of Giovanni Battista Moroni.
