History Samfoto was founded by a group of photographers in 1976, based on the philosophy of a picture agency run by photographers. Approximately 100 Norwegian photographers joined Samfoto in the eighties and nineties. In 1988 the association Norwegian Nature Photographers began collaborating with the agency. Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021.
