Salvaterra de Miño is a town and Municipalities of Spain, municipality (''concello'') in the Provinces of Spain, province of Pontevedra (province), Pontevedra, Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Galicia (Spain), Galicia, Spain. It's located on the southern border of the province of Pontevedra, at the confluence of the valleys of the rivers Tea and Minho River, Minho, and by the natural limits of the Serra da Cañiza. They are entities with a territorial scope lower than municipality and have their own legal personality. Minho River
The Minho ( , ) or Miño ( , , ; cel-x-proto, Miniu) is the longest river in Galicia, sharing the border with Portugal, with a length of . By discharge, it is the fourth river of the Iberian peninsula, after the Douro, Ebro, and Tagus. Lira is a village (''aldea'') belonging to the O Condado shire, in Galicia, north west of Spain. Legally is one of the parishes (''parroquia'') under the government of the council of Salvaterra de Miño. It had 327 inhabitants in 2004 divided into 15 small villages (''lugares''). The patron saint of the parish is Saint Simon.
