Salem Vishnu
''Salem Vishnu'' is a 1990 Tamil-language action film written, produced and directed by Thiagarajan in his directorial debut. The film stars Thiagarajan and Rupini. It had musical score by Sangeetha Rajan and was released on 16 February 1990. The film shows the prequel story of the character Salem Vishnu from the Malayalam film ''New Delhi''. Plot Vishnu (Thiagarajan) was a clever student, but he cannot tolerate cheating at the school exam, and beats up the professor ( M. S. Bhaskar); he was subsequently excluded from the engineering school. He decides to work as a car mechanic. Vishnu and Shanthi (Rupini) fell in love with each other. Vishnu's brother Siva (R. Thiagarajan
Thiagarajan Sivanandam (born 21 June 1946) is an Indian actor, director and producer in Tamil cinema. Beside Tamil, he has also acted in several Malayalam and Kannada films and a few Telugu films. He is the father of Tamil actor Prashanth and the maternal uncle of Tamil actor Vikram. Career Basically a businessman, Thiagarajan made his acting debut with ''Alaigal Oivathillai'', appearing as the elder brother of the film's lead actress Radha. The film became successful and offers poured in for him. His portrayal of a jungle bandit in ''Malaiyoor Mambattiyan'' provided him a major breakthrough in his career. Vairamuthu Ramasamy (born 13 July 1953) is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. He is a prominent figure in the Tamil literary world. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. He entered the Tamil film industry in the year 1980, with the film ''Nizhalgal'', an Ilaiyaraaja musical, directed by Bharathiraja. During the course of his 40-year film career, he has written over 7,500 songs and poems which have won him seven National Awards, the most for any Indian lyricist.
