Saint George Fjord
Saint George Fjord is a fjord in northern Greenland. To the north, the fjord opens into the Lincoln Sea. Administratively it is part of the Northeast Greenland National Park. Geography It is a fairly large fjord that opens to the NNW between Cape Bryant and Dragon Point, at the northern end of Hendrik Island becoming broader towards its head. Saint George Fjord forms Nyeboe Land's eastern coastline and Hendrik Island forms part of the northern half of the facing shore, while the shore south of the Hartz Sound that separates the island from the mainland is part of Warming Land. Warming Land
Warming Land is a peninsula in far northern Greenland. Administratively it is a part of the Northeast Greenland National Park. It was named after Danish botanist and ecologist Eugen Warming (1841 – 1924). Geography Warming Land is located between Nyeboe Land and Wulff Land. It is bounded by St George Fjord and the Steensby Glacier on its western side, and Hartz Sound —a branch of the Sherard Osborn Fjord, as well as the Ryder Glacier on the eastern. Midgårdsormen, an unglaciated section of the peninsula, is located at the southern end and to the south of it lies the Greenland Ice Sheet. Steensby Glacier
Steensby Glacier ( da, Steensby Gletscher) is a major glacier in northern Greenland. This glacier was first mapped in 1917 during Knud Rasmussen's 1916–1918 Second Thule Expedition to north Greenland and was named after Danish ethnologist Hans Peder Steensby. Geography The Steensby Glacier originates in the Greenland Ice Sheet. It is roughly north–south oriented and has its terminus between Nyeboe Land and Warming Land at the head of the Saint George Fjord. Nyeboe Land ( da, Nyeboes Land) is a peninsula in far northwestern Greenland. It is a part of the Northeast Greenland National Park. History Nyeboe Land was named after engineer Marius Nyeboe (1867–1946), chairman of the committee of Knud Rasmussen's Fifth Thule Expedition.
