Sahabi Tree
Sahabi Tree, Tree of Al Buqayawiyya (The Blessed Tree) (Arabic شجرالمبارکہ) is a 1500 year old tree located in Safawi, Jordan. 156 km from Amman, the capital of Jordan. The tree is a Atlantic Pistachio tree. It is located on the old trade route between Mecca and Damascus. Caravans used to travel by this route. Religious importance It is believed that one such caravan was going to Syria from Mecca, when Muhammad sat down under its shadow at the age of 12. He was accompanying his uncle Abu Talib. Under this tree, the monk Bahira foretold about the prophethood of Muhammad. It is a tourist attraction in Jordan, with many Muslims visiting the tree every year. Pistachio
The pistachio (, ''Pistacia vera''), a member of the cashew family, is a small tree originating from Central Asia and the Middle East. The tree produces seeds that are widely consumed as food. ''Pistacia vera'' is often confused with other species in the genus ''Pistacia'' that are also known as pistachio. The 7th century is the period from 601 (DCI) through 700 ( DCC) in accordance with the Julian calendar in the Common Era. Azraq
Azraq ( ar, الأزرق meaning "blue") is a small town in Zarqa Governorate in central-eastern Jordan, east of Amman. The population of Azraq was 9,021 in 2004. The Muwaffaq Salti Air Base is located in Azraq. History Prehistory Archaeological evidence indicates that Azraq has been occupied for hundreds of thousands of years, with the oldest known remains dating to the Lower Palaeolithic, around 500–300,000 years ago. The spring-fed oasis provided a more or less constant source of water throughout this period, and probably acted as a refugium for humans and other animals at times when the surrounding area dried out. Cave Of The Seven Sleepers
The Cave of the Seven Sleepers ( ar, كهف الرقيم, ') is a historical and religious site in al-Rajib, a village to the east of Amman. It is claimed that this cave housed the Seven Sleepers ( ar, اصحاب الكهف, ')—a group of young men who, according to Byzantine and Islamic sources, fled the religious persecution of Roman emperor Decius. Legend has it that these men hid in a cave around 250 AD, emerging miraculously about 200 or 300 years later. Considerable debate remains concerning the exact location of this cave; various locations in Turkey including Afşin, Tarsus, and Mount Pion been suggested in addition to the ''al-Rajib'' site. Sahab, Jordan
Sahab ( ar, سحاب, Saḥāb) is a municipality in Jordan located southeast of the capital Amman. It is the only locality in the Sahab District of the Amman Governorate. Modern Sahab began as a Bedouin-owned plantation village in the late 19th century during Ottoman rule. The plantation was originally worked by Egyptian migrant farmers who purchased and permanently settled the lands in 1894 and developed Sahab into an agricultural estate. Sahab became its own municipality in 1962 and today is a densely populated industrial hub.
