Sage, Bethel, And Pleasant Hill, Texas
Sage, Bethel, and Pleasant Hill were small closely linked unincorporated communities in Burnet County, Texas. They were close to the small town of Lake Victor and seven or eight miles away from Burnet, Texas. Sage Sage is located on the north fork of the San Gabriel River where the old Austin-San Saba Road and the old Burnet-Lampasas Road cross. Many believe the name Sage comes from the large amount of sage grass that is located there. The first people came to Sage before the 1860s and consisted of A.N. Murphy, J.A. Murphy, Hugh McCoy, Alfred Shelby. Other families came to the area in later years and consisted of Andy Fields, George Newt Jones (and family), the Harkriders, Pates, Bentons, Hodges, Hahns, Purcells, Everetts, Pipers, and many other families. Lake Victor, Texas
Lake Victor is an unincorporated community in Burnet County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 215 in 2000. History IA post office was established at Lake Victor that same year and remained in operation until 1957 when the community received mail service from Lampasas. Frank A. Ramsey served as the first postmaster. Its population grew to 350 in 1966, dropped to 300 in 1968, returned to 200 in 1972, and ended at 215 from the 1980s through 2000. Lake Victor also has a Masonic lodge, established in December 1909. Geography Lake Victor is located on Farm to Market Road 2340, north of Burnet in north-central Burnet County. San Gabriel River (Texas)
The San Gabriel River is a river that flows through central Texas, USA. The San Gabriel River is formed in Georgetown by the confluence of the North Fork San Gabriel and the South Fork San Gabriel, both of which originate in Burnet County. There are two major impoundments of the river: Lake Georgetown along the North Fork, and Granger Lake, about 25 miles (40 km) below the confluence. Both are U.S. Army Corps of Engineers impoundments. Burnet County ( ) is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 49,130. Its county seat is Burnet. The 2024 county population estimate was 55,722. The county was founded in 1852 and later organized in 1854.
