Sabrina Voinea
Sabrina Maneca-Voinea (born June 4, 2007) is a Romanian artistic gymnast. Personal life Voinea was born in Constanța in 2007. Her mother, Camelia Voinea, is a former artistic gymnast who competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal with the Romanian team. When Sabrina was young, Camelia brought her to the gym where she worked as a coach, and Sabrina became interested in gymnastics herself. Sabrina is coached by her mother. Junior career Voinea started competing for the Romanian national team in 2017. In April 2022, she competed at the Junior City of Jesolo Trophy. She helped Romania finish fourth in the team competition. She also won the bronze medal on vault and finished seventh on floor. In July, Voinea competed at the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival. She helped Romania win the gold medal. In the individual events, she finished 12th in the all-around, fourth on vault, and fifth on floor. The vault is an artistic gymnastics apparatus which gymnasts perform on, as well as the skill performed using that apparatus. Vaulting is also the action of performing a vault. Both male and female gymnasts perform the vault. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is VT. In gymnastics, the floor is a specially prepared exercise surface, which is considered an apparatus. It is used by both male and female gymnasts. The gymnastics event performed on the floor is called floor exercise. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is FX. 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held in Antwerp, Belgium at the Sportpaleis, from 30 September to 8 October 2023. Antwerp hosted the event for the third time; previously the city hosted the first ever World Championships in 1903 and again in 2013. The championships was a qualification event for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The top nine teams in both the men's and women's team qualifications (not including teams that qualified at the previous year's World Championships) obtained five quota places for Paris as a team. Additionally, numerous individuals qualified with a nominative berth for the Olympic Games. Qualification and quotas The first qualification event for the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was the 2022 edition of the event in Liverpool, United Kingdom where the top 8 teams advanced on both the men's and women's side.
