SV Heimstetten
SV Heimstetten is a German association football club based in the Kirchheim district of Munich, Bavaria. History The club was founded in 1967 and in addition to a football team has departments for basketball, gymnastics, Judo, table tennis, tennis, and volleyball. The footballers played in lower-tier competition until winning promotion to the Bezirksliga (VII) in 1993 and the Bezirksoberliga Oberbayern (VI) in 1998. The club continued its steady rise with an advance to the Landesliga Bayern-Süd (V) in 2003, followed by a 2006 promotion to the Oberliga Bayern (IV) where they played until 2008, when a 17th-place finish meant relegation for the club. After another Landesliga title in 2010, the club moved up to the Bayernliga once more. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. The Landesliga Bayern sits at step 6 of the German football league system and is the third highest level in the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and organised in five regional divisions. The seven Bezirksoberligas Bayern were the third highest level of the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and the Landesliga Bayern from 1988 to 2012. They were the seventh tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the sixth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fifth tier. The 2013–14 Regionalliga was the sixth season of the Regionalliga, the second under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. The champions of Regionalliga Nord – Holstein Kiel – and Regionalliga Nordost – RB Leipzig – as well as Regionalliga Südwest runners-up SV Elversberg were promoted to the 3. Liga. The 2012–13 Regionalliga was the fifth season of the Regionalliga as the fourth tier of the German football league system. From this season onwards, the structure of this tier has changed. The three division format administrated by the German FA has been replaced by five leagues, each of which is administrated by its respective regional FA.
