SKCF Sevastopol (russian: Спортивный Клуб Черноморского Флота, uk, Спортивний Клуб Чорноморського Флоту) was a Soviet football team from Sevastopol, Russian SFSR, later Ukrainian SSR. The club represented sports club of the Black Sea Fleet and originally was called as the Fleet Officers Club, DOF (russian: Дом Офицеров Флота, ДОФ). History The football team first appeared before the World War II in the 1939 Russian Cup (Russian SFSR) where they lost to Sudostroitel Sevastopol. After the war the team was revived in 1949 and was active until 1971. In 1949–1952 it played in the Russian football championship among KFK. In 1953 due to the death of Joseph Stalin, almost all military-based sports organization were withdrawn from competitions including SKCF. The 1963 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR (Class B) was the 33rd season of association football competition of the Ukrainian SSR, which was part of the Ukrainian Class B. It was the thirteenth in the Ukrainian Class B. The 1963 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR (Class B) was won by SKA Odessa. There was reorganization of professional football competitions with Class A being expanded by adding extra tier and all Class B competitions including in Ukraine were moved to the third tier. Due to reorganization 35 out of 39 teams were relegated to lower tier by continuing to compete in the Ukrainian Class B competitions. Format The Ukrainian Republican competition consisted of two zones of 20 clubs. Upon conclusion of the league format each club qualified for a playoff with another club that placed the same place in the other group. The 1959 Soviet Football Championship, Class B (russian: Чемпионат СССР по футболу 1959 (класс «Б»)) was the tenth season of the Soviet Class B football competitions since their establishment in 1950. It was also the nineteenth season of the Soviet second tier professional football competitions. It involved participation of 101 "teams of masters" split in seven groups which were composed by regional principle to some extent. Compared with the previous season, the number of participants was increased by seven teams. The teams were distributed somewhat equally among the seven groups with three groups containing 15 teams and four groups - 14. The competition also included representation of all 15 union republics by at least one participant. In majority the season kicked off on April 18, 1959, with the Round 1 matches in five groups.
