1962 Ukrainian Class B
The 1962 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR (Class B) was the 32nd season of association football competition of the Ukrainian SSR, which was part of the Ukrainian Class B. It was the thirteenth in the Soviet Class B. The 1962 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR (Class B) was won by FC Trudovi Rezervy Luhansk. There was reorganization of professional football competitions with Class A being expanded by adding extra tier and all Class B competitions including in Ukraine were moved to the third tier. This season due to reorganization 35 out of 39 teams were relegated to lower tier by continuing next season to compete in the Ukrainian Class B competitions. Format Some 150 teams took part in competitions of the Soviet football championship in Class B. Ukrainian Soviet Competitions
The Championship of the Ukrainian SSR in football was a top competition of association football in the Ukrainian SSR in 1921-91. Number of Ukrainian clubs almost never competed in the championship such as Dynamo Kyiv. The competitions were organized by the Football Federation of the Ukrainian SSR that was created in 1959 in place of the Football Section. Before 1980 selected teams of Moldavian SSR participated in the championship. Historical outlook Established as the All-Ukrainian inter-city competition in 1921, later it was included into number of All-Ukrainian Olympiads and Spartakiads. During several seasons the competitions were suspended due to football being identified as a ''"non-proletariat sport"''. FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih
Football Club Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih () was a professional Ukrainian football club based in Kryvyi Rih. Until 2013 the club participated in professional competitions. In June 2013 the club went bankrupt and was expelled from the Ukrainian Premier League. There was a failed attempt to revive the club in 2014, until finally the club was reestablished again in 2015. In 2020, the club merged with Hirnyk Kryvyi Rih which took on the Kryvbas's brand. History The team was founded as FC Kryvyi Rih in 1959. The next year it was part of the republican sport society Avanhard. After a couple of years it changed to Hirnyk, before obtaining current its name in 1966. Football Sports Club Bukovyna Chernivtsi is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Chernivtsi. History The club was established in 1958 as Avanhard Chernivtsi (Avangard Chernovtsy) for republican competitions and became the first club from Chernivtsi Oblast to be added to the Soviet Class B competition in 1960. Before 1958 Chernivtsi were presented several times by various teams in republican competitions like Burevisnyk (1956), Dynamo (1948, 1950–1955), Spartak (1946, 1947, 1949), Lokomotyv (1949). FC Khimik Sievierodonetsk was a professional Ukrainian football club. The club was based in Sievierodonetsk, Ukraine. Brief history In Soviet times the club participated on the professional level from 1963 when the Ukrainian zone of the Soviet Second League was organized and until 1970 during another reorganization of the Soviet football structure. Then, in 1991 it reentered the professional competition once again right before the dissolution of Soviet Union. Krystal Kherson is a professional football club from Kherson in Ukraine that has a long history in the Soviet and then the Ukrainian Leagues. FC Zirka Kropyvnytskyi ( uk, ФК "Зірка Кропивницький") is a Ukrainian amateur football club from Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad Oblast, with its team currently playing in the Ukrainian Amateur League. SC Prometei Dniprodzerzhynsk was a Soviet football club from Dniprodzerzhynsk, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The club was founded in 1947 and participated in the Soviet competition until 1970. History The club was founded in 1947 as Traktor Dniprodzerzhynsk under the patronage of a secretive Soviet Factory of Slag Fertilizers, a part of the Soviet Defense Industry Complex. The club entered regional competitions of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in 1951. In 1952 Traktor entered the republican stage and after being promoted to upper league changed its name to Khimik. Narodnyy Klub Veres Rivne ( uk, РНК «Верес») is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Rivne. SKA Kiev
Ska (; ) is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. SC Odesa is a former Ukrainian football team that appeared in 1992 following the reorganization of the Soviet SKA Odesa. The new city municipal team was located in Odesa, Ukraine and previously at one point was part of the Soviet Army sport system.
