SG Friedrichstadt
Dresdner Sportclub 1898 e.V., known simply as Dresdner SC, is a German multisport club playing in Dresden, Saxony. Founded on 30 April 1898, the club was a founding member of the German Football Association (Deutscher Fussball Bund) in 1900. The origins of the club go back still further to the predecessor side ''Dresden English Football Club'' formed in 1874 by expatriate Englishmen as Germany's first football club and possibly the earliest in continental Europe: ''Dresdener SC'' was organized by one-time German members of the ''EFC''. The Heinz-Steyer-Stadion, in Dresden, Germany, is an association football, American football and athletics stadium currently used by the Dresdner SC and the Dresden Monarchs. It has a capacity of about 30,000 but is currently restricted to about 5,000 for football matches (although it had attendances of more than 50,000 people in the 1930s). V., commonly known as Hertha BSC (), and sometimes referred to as Hertha Berlin, Hertha BSC Berlin, or simply Hertha, is a German professional football club based in the locality of Westend of the borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf of Berlin. The Regionalliga () is the fourth tier in the German football league system. Until 1974, it was the second tier in Germany. In 1994, it was introduced as the third tier. Upon the creation of the new nationwide 3. Liga in 2008, it became the fourth tier. 2nd Fußball-Bundesliga
The 2. Bundesliga ( ) is the second division of professional football in Germany. It was implemented 11 years after the founding of the Fußball-Bundesliga as the new second division for professional football. The 2. Bundesliga is ranked below the Bundesliga and above the 3. Liga in the German football league system. All of the 2. Bundesliga clubs qualify for the DFB-Pokal, the annual German Cup competition. A total of 127 clubs have competed in the 2. Bundesliga since its foundation. The decision to establish the league as the second level of football in West Germany was made in May 1973. The league started operating in August 1974, then with two divisions of 20 clubs. It was reduced to a single division in 1981. Hans Modrow (; born 27 January 1928) is a German politician best known as the last communist premier of East Germany. Taking office in the middle of the Peaceful Revolution, he was the ''de facto'' leader of the country for much of the winter of 1989 and 1990. He was a transitional figure, paving the way to the first and only free elections in East Germany and including many opposition politicians in his cabinet. He had previously been a collaborator in the communist regime, even downplaying its role in the deaths at the Berlin Wall, and attempted to delay German reunification. After the end of Communist rule and reunification of Germany, he was convicted of electoral fraud and perjury by the Dresden District Court in 1995, on the basis that he had been the SED official nominally in charge of the electoral process. Football club (german: Fußballclub) (FC) was a designation for a specially promoted club for elite football in East Germany. The football clubs were formed during the winter break 1965-1966 as centers of excellence in East German football. SG Volkspolizei Potsdam, also known as SV Deutsche Volkspolizei Potsdam was an East German sports community based in Potsdam, Bezirk Potsdam (present day Brandenburg). Nagema
Nagema was a manufacturing association of state-owned enterprises (VVB) and later a combine in East Germany. It was formed in 1948 as the legal successor to the ''Gäbel Maschinen-Fabrik Dresden-Mockritz'' and ceased to exist in 1990. It had 21,000 employees as of 31 December 1989 and produced a variety of packaging machines for the food industry. From the 1970s, Nagema (as a combine) also consisted of many subsidiary companies unrelated to food packaging, one of which, ''Wägetechnik Rapido Radebeul'', assisted VEB Robotron in manufacturing Robotron 400 ATM machines for the East German Sparkassen as well as the Staatsbank der DDR in the early-1980s, which were among the first ATM machines to be introduced in East Germany. The Peaceful Revolution (german: Friedliche Revolution), as a part of the Revolutions of 1989, was the process of sociopolitical change that led to the opening of East Germany's borders with the West, the end of the ruling of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) (communist regime) in the German Democratic Republic (GDR or "East Germany") in 1989 and the transition to a parliamentary democracy, which later enabled the reunification of Germany in October 1990.
