Sporting Club Bengaluru (also known as SCB and The Golden Tigers) is an Indian professional football club based in Bangalore, Karnataka. The club currently competes in the I-League, the second tier of the Indian football league system and the BDFA Super Division. The club was founded in 2022 by Tony Sohi (based in UK), Kulbir Sohi (based in UK), Adrian Wright (based in UK) and Kishore S Reddy (based in Bengaluru) History Founded in 2022, SC Bengaluru made its debut in the 2022–23 BDFA Super Division. They clinched the title in their inaugural season ahead of their closest rivals FC Bengaluru United, attaining 46 points in 18 games. With their win, they closed on a spot in the 2023–24 I-League 3, the newly formed fourth tier of the Indian football league system. Kerala United Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Malappuram, Kerala. Founded in 1976 as ''Calicut Quartz FC'', the club was an amateur and academy side during its early years. In December 2011, they announced intention to turn professional and participated in the I-League 2nd Division, currently the third tier of Indian club football. In 2020, "United World Group" (owners of Sheffield United) took over the club and rebranded it as Kerala United. I-League 3, or 3rd Division League, is a men's professional football league in India. It forms the fourth tier of the Indian football league system, below the I-League 2 and above the State leagues. History For the first time, the AIFF introduced Qualifiers for I-League 2 in the 2022–23 season. On 13 June 2023, the AIFF league committee announced introducing a new league below the I-League 2, where champions of State leagues and nominated clubs will play. State FAs have to nominate a team before July 31. 2023–24 I-League 2 is the 16th season of the I-League 2 since its establishment in 2008. It is also the 2nd season as the third tier of the Indian football league system.
