Arjun Jayaraj
Arjun Jayaraj (born 5 March 1996) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for SC Bengaluru , on loan from Gokulam Kerala. Career Early career Born in Malappuram, Kerala, Arjun is a product of the MSP sports hostel. He played for Calicut University and won the All-India Championship. While playing for his university team against Gokulam Kerala in a friendly, he scored a goal and impressed Gokulam head coach Bino George who signed him. Gokulam Kerala FC 2017–18 Arjun played for the club in the Kerala Premier League and scored a goal in the final to help Gokulam win the title. He was included in the I-League squad and made his professional debut for Gokulam Kerala on 22 December 2017 against Indian Arrows. Kerala United FC
Kerala United Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Malappuram, Kerala. Founded in 1976 as ''Calicut Quartz FC'', the club was an amateur and academy side during its early years. In December 2011, they announced intention to turn professional and participated in the I-League 2nd Division, currently the third tier of Indian club football. In 2020, "United World Group" (owners of Sheffield United) took over the club and rebranded it as Kerala United. The club spent a season 2012–13 in the second division and later played in the Kerala Premier League. In 2017–18 Kerala Premier League season, they finished as runners-up. 2017–18 I-League
The 2017–18 I-League was the 11th season of the I-League. Aizawl were the defending champions. NEROCA entered as the promoted team from the 2016–17 I-League 2nd Division. The season began on 25 November 2017. Teams All India Football Federation invited bids for new teams on 21 July 2017 from Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Ranchi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Malappuram and Trivandrum, among others. On 20 September, after second round of bidding invitation, the Bid Evaluation Committee decided to award Sree Gokulam Group the right to field their team in the Hero I-League 2017–18 season onward from Kozhikode, Kerala. The 2022–23 I-League (also known as Hero I-League for sponsorship reasons) is the 16th season of I-League, the second tier of Indian football league system. It is played from 12th November 2022 to March 2023. I-League 2, previously known as I-League 2nd Division and officially known as or Hero I-League 2 (for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp), is an Indian men's professional football league. It is the 3rd tier of Indian football, behind Indian Super League and I-League. It operates as a system of promotion with I-League (final qualifying phase of state leagues teams). In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic in India, the league format was changed into I-League Qualifiers. To avoid confusion with I-League being the second tier, the league was renamed to I-League 2 by AIFF in 2022. The 2nd Division league was introduced from the 2008 season, having been previously known as the National Football League 2nd Division. State FA's nominate teams who have finished at the top of their respective state leagues (or passing the required criteria). 2020–21 I-League 2nd Division
The 2021 I-League Qualifiers or Hero I-League Qualifiers 2021 (for sponsorship reasons) was the 14th season of I-League 2nd Division since its establishment in 2008. The league winner secured place in 2021–22 I-League season. Subrata Dutta, senior vice president of All India Football Federation, and AIFF league committee members held its meeting on June 26, 2021, agreeing that state associations which have conducted a league or qualifying championship, will be eligible to nominate teams for the qualifiers. Even though states are allowed to nominate two teams, the AIFF said each state association will be represented by just one team in I-League qualifiers. The AIFF has made it clear that only those states which conduct a league will be allowed to nominate a team. At least two states made direct recommendations, but were turned down. Indian Super League
The Indian Super League (ISL) is an Indian professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Indian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and their commercial partners Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), it is officially known as Hero Indian Super League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp. The league currently comprises 11 clubs. Each season of the tournament generally runs from October to March. During the league stage of the competition, each club plays against all the other clubs in a round-robin style.
