Rádio Comercial
Rádio Comercial is a commercial radio station in Portugal aimed at young people and adults. It has a broad format including contemporary, pop and rock music. It is among the most listened to radio stations in the country. History Rádio Comercial was born on March 12, 1979, as a subsidiary of Rádiodifusão Portuguesa. The name was chosen because it was the only RDP station to allow adverts at the time. However, the station can trace its roots to Rádio Clube Português (RCP), a very important and influential station founded in 1930. RCP existed until 1975, when it was nationalized as part of the Carnation revolution. Then, the channel was swallowed into RDP, and was later privatized on March 31, 1993, to the Correio da Manhã newspaper, and later sold to Media Capital and PRISA, in 1997. "So Get Up", written and vocalized by Ithaka (also known as Ithaka Darin Pappas), is a 1992 spoken-word electronic dance music vocal-poem lyric song more frequently credited to the Portuguese house music production duo Underground Sound of Lisbon, German trance music duo Cosmic Gate, the Spanish group Committee and London-based DJ/producers, Stretch & Vern. Ithaka Darin Pappas lived and recorded in Lisbon, Portugal, from 1992 to 1998. His poem "So Get Up" (then entitled "So Get Up, the End of the Earth Is Upon Us") was written and first vocalized on December 13 of 1992 for a program called ''Quarto Bairro'' on Rádio Comercial in Lisbon. M80 Radio
M80 Radio is a radio station in Portugal (and formerly also Spain) playing music from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. In Spain, the station began the emission on January 18, 1993 as Radio 80 Serie Oro. In 1994, the name was changed to M80. On November 21, 2018 at 6:40 CEST, M80 Radio finalized emissions in the country, and was replaced by LOS40 Classic. In Portugal, it started broadcasting in 2007, and is still active as of January 3, 2020. The station is owned by Grupo PRISA. Cidade FM is a Portuguese radio station that focuses on international and national hits. Cidade targets the younger audience, 15-24. Cidade is operated by the Portuguese radio division of German media giant Bauer Media Group, sister stations include: Rádio Comercial, Rádio Clube Português, Mix FM, Best Rock FM, Romântica FM, and M80. It was launched as pirate radio station, Radio Cidade, on 1 April 1986 in Amadora by Brazilian immigrants Rui Duarte, Rui Duarte Júnior and Edson Yazejy before it was suspended on 24 December 1988 due to not having a legal licence. It became legal on 22 May 1989. The station peaked its listenership in the mid-1990s when it became the second most listened radio station in Portugal, and soon expanded to several stations in Greater Lisbon, Greater Porto, Coimbra, Vale de Cambra , Santarém, Alentejo and Algarve, forming the Rede Cidade group. ''Mafalda'' () is an Argentine comic strip written and drawn by cartoonist Quino. The strip features a six-year-old girl named Mafalda, who reflects the Argentinian middle class and progressive youth, is concerned about humanity and world peace, and has an innocent but serious attitude toward problems. Nuno Frederico Correia da Silva Lobato Markl (born 21 July 1971), known as Nuno Markl, is a Portuguese comedian, writer, radio host, television host, voice actor and screenwriter. He was born in Lisbon. Career Radio Markl is well known in Portugal for his radio series "O Homem Que Mordeu o Cão" (''The Man Who Bit The dog''). It started in 1997, when he joined Pedro Ribeiro, José Carlos Malato and Ana Lamy for the morning show at Rádio Comercial. In 2001, Malato and Lamy left, and were replaced by Maria de Vasconcelos.
